5 Reasons To Attend Ole Miss

The 5 Best Reasons To Go To Ole Miss

Ole Miss is one of the premier SEC schools to attend when it comes to college living. You’re guaranteed to have at least four of the best years of your life. That got me thinking: What are some of the best reasons to go to this school? Without further ado, here are the five best reasons to go to Ole Miss.

The Girls

Ole Miss girls are the epitome of SEC hot. They are your southern girls who will wear the sundresses, cowboy boots, and blow you away with their charm. These girls will be classy in the streets, generally, and you’ll want to bring one of them home to Mom. Plus, I’ve heard great things about their cooking abilities.

As a great TFM once said, “If you like southern girls: raise your glasses. If you don’t: raise your standards.” I’m 100 percent certain that this was in regards to an Ole Miss belle. These girls are just a great time to party with and you won’t be disappointed during your four to seven year run in Oxford.

The Greek Life

When you’re talking about the best Greek life in the nation, the folks down at Ole Miss are sure to be at or near the top of that list. Ole Miss may be the cream of the crop when it comes to going Greek, and only Alabama can really give them a run for their money. Being a part of the Ole Miss Greek community gives you an identity on campus, and because of this, the Greek community is very close and they are able to pull together on many issues.

Plus, have you seen their houses? They are huge. Almost too huge. It’s basically a “let’s throw money at it until there’s no money left” party. They are exactly what you’d expect to find at a southern school, meaning they embody the large plantation houses that are iconic in southern culture.

The Grove

The Grove has everything you want in a tailgate. Often imitated, but never duplicated. The gold standard. The white linens, the proper southern attire, the Walk of Champions, enough bourbon to fill one of the Great Lakes, and the over-the-top support of their football team makes it one of the places to be seen on any given Saturday in the fall.

When you think of Ole Miss football, the Grove is what comes to mind first. And rightfully so, given that some have dubbed it the mecca of college football tailgating.

The College Town

The campus itself is an absolute beauty. It is consistently ranked as one of the most aesthetically pleasing campuses in the country due to the fact that it feels like you’re walking to class at a country club. The southern charm and hospitality from the folks around town just seems to increase every year. And lastly, the bar scene is amazing. Take a trip down to Oxford and hit up the Library. It’ll be one of the best times that you won’t remember.

The Accounting Program

My good friend, and former Ole Miss ATO Nick Will, actually gave me the scoop on this one. I honestly thought that I was going to make the fifth reason that you can just show up and you’ll get a degree like you go to a real school. In actuality, the School of Accountancy ranks in the top ten nationally for both undergraduate and graduate programs, according to the Public Accounting Report national rankings.

Being an accountant isn’t a bad career path to go down, either. You’re setting yourself up for some long hours and hard work, but you’re also setting yourself up for a good chunk of change. Plus, when you’re drunk-networking at the Grove, you’re going to run into some folks with money. Folks with money need accountants. You’re an accountant. You make money. Boom.

Grandfather went there (KA, class of ’52). The atmosphere is almost unmatched, although our left leaning counterparts seem intent on erasing everything they deem unacceptable.

So visit while you can, because it probably won’t be the same just a few short years from now.

A ranking from 2013 is hardly reputable making the kind of point this article poses. Check the latest rankings and it shows the program at #15.

What is it with people from Texas and their obsession with Ole Miss?
It has bottom tier academics even in the SEC.

I mean I’m all SEC and everything but I’m just imagining some boner high schooler in Ohio reading this and jerking off in a corner wearing a bowtie and croakies. What the fuck is this diarrhea

Based on your user name and your comment I can only assume someone from Ohio banged your girl.

No cooking in the grove, expect cold chicken tenders. Called walk of champions, but don’t expect them to win one.
