Kobe Rape Trial Still Relevant for WWE

World Wrestling Entertainment has come under question the last 24 hours over a rape reference on live television. Abraham Washington, WWE Superstar, took a jab at Kobe Bryant, igniting controversy. While managing Titus O’Neil and boasting about his dominating style, Washington may have gone a little too far.

“He’s like Kobe Bryant in a hotel in Colorado. He’s unstoppable!”

Kobe Bryant, 5-time NBA Champion and U.S. Olympian, did indeed get accused of sexual assault…in 2003. For Abraham Washington and World Wrestling Entertainment, whose fanbase is 10 years and under, this was of course a perfect thing to reference to build heat on the bad guys!

Maybe Washington was at a loss for words. What else could he have said to elaborate on dominance? It’s not like the U.S. Team is favored by 54 points, or that the U.S. is currently tied at #1 for the medal count. Maybe next time, Abraham Washington.

AW’s comment was by far the highlight of the (incredibly exhausting) new three hour format…um…not that I watch RAW or anything.
