Woman Claims GPS Instructed Her to Drive on Train Tracks, Drove on Train Tracks

I have deja vu. I feel I just ran a similar story about a woman “following the instruction of her GPS” through a field and onto a golf course, leading her straight to a sand trap where her car got stuck. Yep, I did.

Transit and Brookline police officers rescued a South Attleboro woman and her car from the Green Line tracks early yesterday morning after she claimed she was led there by her GPS, which she said instructed her to take a left turn onto the inbound trolley tracks, according to cops.

Women drivers; it’s like they should have their own schools. At minimum, their vehicles should come equipped with an extra steering wheel and brake pedal like those student driver training cars. This story gets funnier, though. She also fell victim to a little male bamboozlement, who told her to just keep heading down the tracks after she realized she made the wrong turn.

It seems her fellow man was no help to 22-year-old Natalie Thibeault, either. Thibeault, who transit cops cited for a left-turn violation and impeded operation, said a passing male driver “told her she was fine and to continue down the tracks and get off them at the next intersection,” the police report states.

I bet the prankster got a good laugh from that one at the expense of the overly-gullible woman. Lose the GPS and exercise some common sense next time. You may get lost, but at least you won’t have to worry about any trains bearing down on you.
