UNC Drops Term “Freshman” In Order to be More “Gender Inclusive”
Read the title again. Let it sink in. It’s real.
I don’t know how everyone else feels, but I take great comfort in knowing that this fine academic institution has their finger squarely on the pulse of such pressing issues as dropping a term that has had absolutely zero bearing on anything or anyone. Ever. The University of North Carolina has dropped “freshman” from all university documents, and will replace it with more generic, politically-neutral words. Freshmen First year females must have really been up in arms over this egregious atrocity, because you know, I see no other reason for UNC to take this stance over a completely innocent word that has been widely accepted since the dawn of the English language (or whenever schools began).
The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill has removed the word “freshman” from official university documents, citing as their reason an attempt to adopt more “gender inclusive language.” We are “committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our community,” reads a statement administrators sent to Campus Reform on Monday.
“Consistent with that commitment, gender inclusive terms (chair; first year student; upper-level student, etc.) should be used on University Documents, websites and policies,” it continues.
How does that saying go about the “pussification of America”? This would certainly qualify for that file, no? This gigantic step forward in the battle for female equality must be thwarted somehow. Before you know it, women will be able to vote and hold government positions.
A spokesperson for UNC declined to comment on the matter.

12 years ago at 7:50 pmNone of those girls individually are all that attractive (cheerleader effect), but the girl third from the left has that “I like to get fucked hard” kind of face which is surprisingly sexy.
Oh and to be more relevant, this is stupid and I pray to God this does not catch on across the nation.
12 years ago at 5:01 pmThe words ‘woman’ and ‘female’ both have words for men inside them, so therefore women are only functional when a man is inside them. Or when they are in the kitchen.

12 years ago at 8:47 amAP style calls for the use of either “spokesman” or “spokeswomen” but never “spokesperson”.
