Nebraska QB Taylor Martinez on the Georgia Defense: “We Pretty Much Did Anything We Wanted Against Them”
That is, anything except score any points in the game’s final 24 minutes…or actually win the damn football game. According to Taylor Martinez, beholder of the NCAA’s absolute worst nickname in “T-Magic,” the defenses in the SEC are rather pedestrian, or as he puts it, “I think the Big Ten, talent-wise, is a lot better, and the defenses in the Big Ten are better than SEC defenses.”
That’s low, Taylor. With one foot in his mouth, he puts the other up his ass with this comment:
“This was supposed to be one of the top defenses in the SEC, and we pretty much did anything we wanted against them.”
One question I’d like to ask Martinez is why they didn’t “want” to score enough points to win the game.
Aside from being completely asinine, it’s statistically inaccurate as well. Georgia ranks sixth in conference in total defense. Furthermore, “The 5.6 yards gained per-play by the Huskers was their fourth-worst mark of the season, and two of the three lower numbers were in blowouts vs. offense-deficient opponents (Minnesota and a Michigan team playing third-stringer Russell Bellomy at quarterback) where Nebraska took its proverbial foot off the pedal.”
Give that poor kid a mulligan.

5 sacks, 2 INTs, a forced fumble, and a blocked punt. Sour grapes, cocksmith.

12 years ago at 2:50 pmMartinez impressed me with his toughness and had a great game besides the 2 INTs. All negated now because he can’t shut his whiney, pathetic, sore-losing pie hole. Martinez, be a man and take the loss like a champ. You are lucky Georgia’s D didn’t feel like playing the 1st half. I mean they didn’t even line up several plays and let Nebraska have free shots. Enjoy being a used car salesmen when most of Georgia’s D is playing in the NFL. Pussy.
12 years ago at 2:53 pmWe have these guys going (or likely going) into the draft: John Jenkins, Alec Ogletree, Jarvis Jones, Shawn Williams, Bacarri Rambo, Branden Smith, Sanders Commings. If they had actually tried the whole game (or if Grantham had gotten calls in on time) it would have been a just a little bit harder considering Big John, Jarvis, and Alec are all virtual locks for the 1st round. What an idiot.
12 years ago at 3:02 pmTheir offense scored three touchdowns. That’s not impressive at all.
12 years ago at 2:55 pmI would like to speak for all of Husker nation when I say we all think Taylor’s an idiot.
12 years ago at 2:56 pmWe have (had) Tyler Bray. Trust me, we feel your pain.
12 years ago at 3:01 pmI would like to speak for the rest of the nation and say the Huskers suck

12 years ago at 12:53 amActually Alabama did what they wanted to against UGA.
12 years ago at 1:21 amMore accurately, Lacy and Yeldon did what they wanted to against UGA.
12 years ago at 3:40 am^ This. Don’t for any reason delude yourself into thinking that Bama’s appearance in the NC this year is more than extreme luck. Georgia had Alabama on the ropes with the knockout punch on the way when that ball was tipped and time ran out.
