Bama hazing the independent. TFM.

This is funny because it references the 2013 BCS National Championship game that took place on January 7th, 2013 in which the Alabama Crimson Tide easily defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish by a score of 42-14. The poster is implying that the incredibly-lopsided defeat that Alabama handed their rival was analogous to the hazing that members of fraternities are apt to give to non-greek students (whom are commonly referred to as “God Damned Independents” by members of fraternities and sororities). This analogy references the fact that the Fighting Irish football program is independent of any conference affiliation, whereas the Crimson Tide program is part of the Southeastern Conference. an elite-group of football schools that some have compared to a successful and popular top-tier fraternity.The analogy is doubly-humorous because the University of Alabama has one of the largest Greek systems in the United States, whereas the University of Notre Dame has no Greek system and therefore is comprised entirely of “independents”.
