NC State Football Player Facing DWI, Boost to Music Career

North Carolina State football player and country singing moonlighter Logan Winkles can play “Folsom Prison Blues,” but after a recent DWI arrest, it looks like he couldn’t “Walk The Line.” SICK BURN.

From The Charlotte Observer:

“N.C. State football player Logan Winkles was arrested on Saturday in Raleigh, and charged with driving while impaired and for being under the legal drinking age and driving after consuming alcohol.”

Not only did Winkles get the underage/DWI double whammy, he also managed to blow a .12 at 2:28pm in the afternoon. Looks like he took the whole “If-I-Die-In-Raleigh-At-Least-I-Will-Die-Free” thing a little too literally.

Winkles managed to avoid singing the Wake County Jail and Detention Center Blues but will face a day in court in March. An injury-prone full back with 10 career receptions, Winkles may also be kicked off the team. Basketball player Staats Battle (yes, someone named their child ‘Staats’) was booted from the Wolfpack for a DWI and is no longer enrolled in the school.

A lot has changed for Winkles in the past month. Playing an unglamorous position, Winkles received more prominence than he ever got on the field for his appearance on the basketball version of ESPN’s College Gameday. Along with former American Idol winner and teenage crappy pop country singer Scotty McCreery, Winlkes and a Wolfpack assistant coach played guitar and sang a cover of Johnny Cash’s classic “Folsom Prison Blues,” delighting the 83 pre-teen girls who waited in line to see McCreery perform.

The good news is that Winkles may have a lot more time to focus on his country music career, where binge day drinking is much more acceptable.

Country could use more people who don’t give a fuck instead of metrosexual cowboys.

If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie, I don’t wanna go,
If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie, I’d just as soon stay home.
If they don’t have a Grand Ole Opry, like they do in Tennessee,
Just send me to hell or New York City, it would be about the same to me.

Sorry, I don’t think Heaven is a racist state full of rednecks that refused to progress past 1950.

Haha. So I’m an “Un-American Fuck” because I’m Black. Or, is it because I like trees (since we need them for oxygen) and I respect women (because they’re humans too)?

I’m black, 19 years old, an honor student at Vanderbilt (one of America’s best schools), have a job, published author, environmentalist, and women’s rights advocate. I do more with my life than 90% of you. So I don’t know where all this racist talk about black people being inferior or “second class” comes from. It’s just something you make up so that you can feel better about yourselves.

i hate you for 5 reasons: 1) you’re a pussy. 2) you’re a “women’s rights advocate”. 3) you’re an environmentalist. 4) you’re a liberal (somewhat redundant as being a pussy was no. 1) and 5) you’re not 21 yet so you have to irritate all the upperclassmen every time you want to booze, although thankfully as you seem to be a pussy of the most colossal magnitude, that probably only occurs once a month, like your period.

^^ Thanks trailer trash for pointing out something that no one else figured out… I’m BLACK. OH THE HORROR!!! Oh my God, I’m black and I’m on a fucking website. Grow the fuck up. Get out of your trailer park in Mississippi and grow a fucking brain.

What is it like knowing that whatever you accomplish in life will be second guessed constantly by your peers? Whatever you accomplish people will assume it is because you are black. I myself assumed that you got into Vanderbilt because you were black. Sure, you probably got an above average SAT score, but not good enough to get into Vanderbilt on your own merit. What is that like?

Well actually, I graduated #7 out of a class of 350. I live in the Midwest and we take the ACT here. I got a 32. I don’t care what you think of me or my accomplishments. I know that I get what I want based off my own merit. I’m sorry that you can’t see beneath the color of my skin and that you won’t give me a chance to show you my character, but that’s really not my problem. I work my ass off every day to get what I want. It’s not because of my race. If you second guess me, that’s not my problem. While you’re “second guessing”, I’ll be running to the podium to accept my degree from a top university, then to top brokerage firm on Wall Street.

^^ Listen buddy, we all know you’re the next Bill Gates or whatever, but really, come on…I made a 24 on my ACT the fourth time I took it, got into UTK, interned with Lt. Governor Ron Ramsey and I’m going to do OK in life with my shitty GPA and my lack of work ethic when it comes to school. ALSO, top brokerage firms on Wall Street do not hire Black environmentalist/women rights advocates. I would suggest you look at working for PETA, Bill Ayres, or North Korea you un-American fuck.

      1) The ACT is a joke. I took both.

So I’m “Un-American” because I’m black. Or is it because I love fucking trees and support women? Or is it both?

^ Stop trying to bring attention to yourself. I don’t even give a fuck what color you are. Hell, I respect Herman Cain because he shares the same beliefs that I do, but the fact that you are an environmentalist and a women right’s advocate makes you one of the least credible people on this site.

Most of us may be partially racist, some more than others (and I am guilty of that on several occasions). But at the end of the day, it comes down to what you stand for, and clearly you are a left-leaning citizen, and because of that, you will never earn my respect.

^I’m actually pretty fucking racist, but i’d vote for Herman Cain. In 2012 my candidates were, (1) Ron Paul, (2) RIck Perry, (3) Herman Cain, after them I’ll take my chances voting Libertarian.
