Girl Severely Burned, Kicked Out Of ASU Fraternity Party After Bottle Of Vodka Explodes In Bonfire
I’ve checked several different news sources trying to track down which Arizona State fraternity hosted the party, but I can’t find that information anywhere, leading me to believe this incident didn’t occur at a fraternity house. Most likely it happened at a private residence with members of a fraternity present. Of course there is always the possibility, due to sloppy reporting, that it had nothing to do with a fraternity at all. If anyone can clarify, let us know.
While visiting Arizona State on a college visit, a 17-year-old high school student attended a fraternity party, but was eventually kicked out on the streets with severe burns on her legs.
A whiskey-bent partygoer in perhaps a pro-American, anti-communism gesture, threw a bottle of soviet vodka into a bonfire that the young lady was standing near. The bottle exploded, shooting flaming liquid onto her legs.
The girl was standing beside a raging bonfire, according to police, when someone threw a bottle of vodka into the fire. The vodka exploded like a Molotov cocktail and sent flaming liquid onto the girl’s bare legs.
The teen’s right leg was burned severely from thigh to ankle and her left leg was burned in places, as well.
On a college visit no less. It’s unknown how she was enjoying her trip up until this party, but this is the kind of lasting memory that will push someone to the University of Arizona instead. Unless, of course, the upstanding ASU students handled the situation dutifully, ie. making sure she receives the proper medical attention, accepting responsibility, and notifying her parents, who I’m sure weren’t even aware of her attendance at this Molotov throwdown.
According to police, bystanders pushed the girl to the ground and helped extinguish her flaming skin.
Step 1. Check.
But after that, police said fraternity members kicked the girl out of the party and told her to wait for emergency responders down the street in order to keep them from getting in trouble.
Welp, that was handled about as poorly as possible.
Thanks to full time TFM Tech Guy, and part time internet sleuth, we have discovered that the Sigma Phi Epsilon house was the scene of the party, as revealed on the ASU Confessions Facebook Page.
Here’s one post mentioning it:
