‘Vacation’ Movie Reboot Threatens Chevy Chase’s Legacy, Is Delayed

Due to creative differences, the reboot of the 1983 classic Vacation has been delayed. Apparently there is some disagreement over whether or not the film should be PG-13, or aim for an R-rating like the original movie starring Chevy Chase.

Say no more. I am already 100% against this project. The fact that anyone is arguing for a PG-13 rating does not bode well for the finished product. One of the things that made the original Vacation so great was that it randomly included gratuitous female nudity, or a flurry of F-bombs.

This is how “creative differences” would be solved if I was one of the people in charge…

Executive Producer: “Should we make this thing PG-13 or rated R?”
Me: “Which one lets us show lots of boobs and use tons of unnecessary curse words?”

BOOM. Conflict over.

The reboot of the series is set to star Ed Helms, aka Andy from The Office and Stu from The Hangover, as grown up Rusty Griswold, now taking his own family on a vacation gone horribly wrong. Christina Applegate will play his wife, which is even more disconcerting, because a Google search of “Christina Applegate boobs” yielded nothing but photoshopped images, and not her real breasts. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo (WARNING: clicking her name results in her 1983 boobs) are even set to make cameos as the kookie grandparents.

The film was scheduled to start shooting in Atlanta this July, but production has been delayed indefinitely until someone can talk some sense into these Hollywood pussies. If you’re going to “reboot” a classic American comedy, you better do it right.
