Chris Carpenter Hazes Rookies, Makes Them Dress Up Like Ladies
Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter hasn’t thrown a single pitch this season due to a nerve injury in his shoulder, but through adversity comes opportunity. To Carpenter, the opportunity was actually just a chance to haze four Cardinal rookies. He’s like the fifth year senior who’s taking six hours and spends the rest of his day ruining pledge lives.
The 38-year-old pitcher, who still travels with the team, took it upon himself to purchase women’s clothing for four of the team’s rookies during a recent outing in Chicago. The four rookies were then presumably forced to wear said clothes (white blouses, black skirts and pantyhose) while mimicking stewardesses on the team bus as the Birds traveled north to Milwaukee after a weekend at Wrigley.
Pitching stand-out Shelby Miller and infielder Pete Kozma were said to be two of Carpenter’s four hazing victims, according to pitcher Jake Westbrook.
