Well, look who decides to steal the hazing spotlight from their Greek counterparts down in San Marcos, TX, not to mention the serial flasher that grabbed headlines and terrorized a few unfortunate coeds around campus a couple months ago. Not to be outdone, the Texas State marching band drumline throws their hat into the mix of unruly behavior.

Who knew they had it in them?

The investigation was triggered after university police interviewed several students in a vehicle that was parked on campus Aug. 31, Smith said.

Through a criminal investigation, police discovered that upper classmen told freshman [sic] drumline members to go to a San Marcos-area apartment, where they were then blindfolded and furnished with alcohol, Smith said.

“Some fell ill,” Smith said, adding that some felt they “had to do this to be part of the group.”

It’s unclear if the university plans to enact any disciplinary measures with the students involved.
