ΑΓΡ Member At Oklahoma State In Hot Water For Holding Pledges At Gunpoint

In Owen Hossack’s defense, the following was most likely never covered during one of the mandatory anti-hazing seminars he attended: “Pulling a loaded firearm on two helpless pledges, pointing it at them, jamming said lethal weapon into one of their necks so hard that it begins to cut off his oxygen while forcing his head into a rear truck window, then discharging the gun near the pledges while shooting out a side window of a truck is prohibited under the bylaws set forth by the Alpha Gamma Rho national organization.”

Unfortunately for Owen, hazing language typically doesn’t get this specific because actions such as this are covered under “general misconduct,” plus it should be common sense that threatening and nearly killing pledges wouldn’t go over too well with nationals, with the university, or with the local police department.

Those three organizations — the Alpha Gamma Rho national office, Oklahoma State University, and the Stillwater PD — have taken, or are in the process of taking, action against Hossack.

From via KOCO:

Authorities said that members of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity loaded pledges into a truck on Aug. 16 and told them they were going to a bonfire, which was part of initiation. Hossack, and other upperclassmen, yelled at the pledges and Hossack turned around and pointed a loaded gun at two students.

According to court documents, Hossack asked the students if they would take a bullet for their brothers.

Hossack also allegedly pushed the gun into one of the pledge’s neck and used it to push the pledge’s head into the back window of the truck. The pledge told police he’d had trouble breathing, and Hossack was making fun of him for coughing. The student said Hossack removed the gun from his neck but then a shot went off and shattered a window in the truck.

Hossack told investigators he had intended to shoot through the back window, which he believed was open, to scare the two pledges.

Incidents this severe often prove to be very detrimental to a chapter. Here’s to hoping the incident was an isolated one.

AGR President Mitchell Earl released the following statement:

“On August 16, an out-of-house member brought a firearm to a chapter activity and into the chapter house which violated the fraternity and OSU’s rules and standards of acceptable conduct. A report was filed with the campus police department. The individual’s actions were in no way encouraged or condoned by the fraternity and the individual was immediately prohibited from participating in any fraternity related activity and has been expelled. Members of the fraternity are cooperating fully with campus officials and have no further comment due to the ongoing nature of the investigation.”

This will set off Greek-university relations with a bang.

He was probably pissed they lost to WVU and went a bit too far with taking his anger out on the pledges.

When asked to describe my penis, they said it looked “average”. Jokes on them, it’s well below average. Got off scott free from “lack of evidence”.
