Michael Jordan’s INSANE 56,000 Square Foot Estate Going Up For Auction

If you happen to have an extra $250,000 lying around and love basketball, Michael Jordan, the Chicago Bulls and/or Space Jam, then you’re in luck, because you can deposit it today and be eligible to bid on MJ’s behemoth of an estate when the Chicago suburb property goes to auction November 22nd.

The massive mansion and 7.39 surrounding acres of Highland Park real estate where the 6-time NBA champion called home from 1994 through the title trifecta in ’96, ‘97 and ’98, was originally listed on the market last February for a staggering $29,000,000. With no offers being tendered at that benchmark, Jordan reduced the asking cost to $21,000,000 (I would’ve thought he’d at least ask $23MM for the hell of it), but the property has yet to sell.

According to The Wall Street Journal’s real estate listings, the compound where MJ lived for nearly 20 years has everything you’d expect the best basketball player, and arguably most marketable athlete of all-time, would need to satisfy his lifestyle cravings.

The contemporary-style home has 9 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms. According to the auction company, it also has a three-bedroom guest wing, an outdoor tennis court, pool pavilion and entertaining area, a deep water pond, putting green and three climate-controlled multicar garages.

In 2001, Mr. Jordan built a full-size, regulation basketball court that is attached to the home but has a separate entry and nearby parking area. Adjacent to the basketball court are locker rooms and showers as well as a lounge with leather chairs, a built-in television and a glass observation overlook.

Get a load of these digs… Naturally, a #23 is emblazoned on all the gates surrounding the estate.

Yeah, I could totally raise a family there… And by that, I mean throw Gatsby-esque ragers every single weekend.

Although what Jordan stands to reap from the sale of his home pales in comparison to the $168 million divorce settlement he gave his ex-wife Juanita six years ago, at least it’ll be something to invest into his struggling Charlotte Bobcats, who won only 21 games last year on the tarheels of posting the worst record in NBA history at 7-59 in the 2012 season.

Good luck with the auction, Mike.

The house literally looks like a YCMA, from the windows to the concrete circular designs that outline the building (or stucco, can’t tell).
