WATCH: CNN Sends Reporter To Cover Columbia University Snowball Fight, Students Mercilessly Pelt Him With Snowballs

With another polar vortex getting ready to take the opposite of a hot, steaming dump on the Midwest and Northeast, and probably ruin the Super Bowl, the weather is unsurprisingly in the news again.

To cover the latest snowfall in New York, Anderson Cooper sent CNN reporter Jason Carroll to Columbia University to check out what he claims is their traditional snowball fight. On the scene were hundreds of Columbia students packing snowballs and dicking around. However, instead of attacking each other, the students waited patiently, like the clever Ivy Leaguers they are, and held off their barrage until Carroll went live, at which point the snow started flying from a hundred different directions, all at Carroll. Well played, Columbia.

Considering that Columbia has one of the two or three best journalism schools in the country, I have to assume the students took a little extra pride in fucking up a live newscast. Bonus points for it being CNN.

My favorite part of the video is the hammered bro near the end who runs in screaming “I got his back!” and attempts to protect Carroll. Could have used more drunk guy, or more snowball induced pain. But, then again, I’m a terrible person.

The drunk bro is definitely the best part, but don’t overlook Anderson Cooper laughing at an underling he sent out into the aftermath of a blizzard knowing full well he’d be pelted with snowballs.
