Someone Is Tweeting Out “Top Gun” Frame-By-Frame, Subtitles Included

Whoever is behind the Twitter account @555uhz is a genius. Evidently this person understands the shit out of scheduling tweets on HootSuite, too.

My better inclination tells me a man is behind the account that’s tweeting out “Top Gun” in its entirety, frame by frame. I haven’t come across many women chomping at the bit to watch “Top Gun” and drink beer on a lazy Sunday, but if you know any good looking ones, send them my way.

Among the best American films of all time, with one of the best movie soundtracks of all time, the 555 account debuted “Top Gun” on January 23 at 1:15 p.m.:

That’s the title screen, for the morons.

It took five hours and 45 minutes for the title to actually appear:

And since that fateful day, a new frame, complete with subtitles, has appeared every 30 minutes, around the clock. The most recent scene tweeted out was when Ice Man tells Maverick congratulations on Top Gun. This happens about 20 minutes and 15 seconds into the film.

Hopefully, like me, you’re a huge fan of this flick, and know that this moment just precedes Maverick and Goose breaking out into the greatest rendition of “You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling” the world has ever heard.

A healthy refresher:

I hate to say it, but I’m kind of I’m appalled that 555 only has a few more than 2,950 followers at the time I write this. The guy is putting some serious time into this account, and it’s fucking awesome. You can go to a scene and then hold the arrow on your computer to the left to watch it. With the subtitles.

It takes some serious dedication to configure this kind of thing in HootSuite, and it’s definitely not for the faint of heart.

I’ve got to give @555uhz an A plus on the patriotic initiative, especially when Sochi demands all the American pride we can exude right now. Well played, sir. You’ve got a new follower.
