High Schooler Brought A Beer To School By Mistake And Got Suspended

Stop the presses, hide the children, slap a couple grandmothers, and grab your guns. There is a kid in Texas name Chaz, and he done messed up real good.

His morning unfolded in the same monotonous way that every morning unfolds in high school: wake up, shower, get dressed, eat breakfast, pack lunch, and head off to first period. Chaz made his fatal flaw during the “pack lunch” step, when, rather than a can of soda, Chaz accidentally grabbed a can of beer.

If that sounds pretty innocuous, it’s because it is. I’ve made that same mistake a couple of times myself. My Canadian father, whom I refuse to talk to until he recognizes the fact that America has almost six times as many total Olympic medals as Canada, would often keep the Labatts right next to the Pepsi in the fridge, and I would often “accidentally” grab the wrong blue can.

However, Chaz didn’t get in trouble for the simple act of bringing beer to school, and he probably wouldn’t have gotten in trouble if he went and chugged it in the bathroom. Chaz got fingered by owning up to his “crime” when he brought the unopened can to his teacher when he realized his mistake.

At that point, his wise, caring teacher probably should have smiled at Chaz, thanked him for his honesty (and free beer) and let the issue settle right there. Except his teacher didn’t do that. His teacher reported it to the principal, who then suspended Chaz for three days and made the decision to send him to an alternative school for two months.

The word “overkill” doesn’t even begin to adequately describe this situation. Thankfully, the Livingston Independent School District released a statement that set the whole issue straight:

“The principal of Livingston High School followed appropriate LISD administrative procedures and protocol. LISD encourages any parent who is in disagreement with an administrative decision to seek relief through the appellate process as provided through Livingston ISD policies. Livingston ISD policies may be accessed through the Livingston ISD Homepage.”

…Or not. When Chaz’s mom appealed to the school, they reduced the time he would spend at an alternative school from two months to only one. Yay, justice!

High school sucks. Never be honest, kids. That’s the lesson you can take away from high school educators today.

If the kid had any balls he would have just shotgunned it in the bathroom. Now because he’s a pussy he’s looking at getting railed in the poop hole at Alternative school for a few months.

Should have brought in two beers, cracked them open, smashed them together before chugging, then flipped his teacher off and walked out the front door.

Well yes, by definition high school is NF. Thank you for your exemplary clarification.
