Jeff Gordon Pranks The Hell Out Of An Unsuspecting Automotive Journalist Who Said His Last Prank Was A Fake

Some of you guys might remember when Jeff Gordon got together with his sponsor, Pepsi, and took a used car salesman on the ride of his life as part of an advertisement for their new product, Pepsi Max. What ensued was rip-roaringly funny, as the used car salesmen nearly had a heart attack when Gordon whipped a Camaro all over town. The used car salesman was also, understandably, shocked when the NASCAR star revealed himself at the end of the prank.

The day after the video was released and went viral, Travis Okulski, a writer at Jalopnik–which is an automotive blog in the Gawker family–voiced his opinion that Gordon’s stunt was pre-arranged, and called it a ploy. The headline of his article published on Feb. 13, 2013, was literally “That Jeff Gordon Terrifying A Car Salesman Pepsi Ad Is Totally 100 Percent Fake.

According to Okulski’s source, Jeff Gordon wasn’t the driver for all the insane turns and slides featured in the original video.

Naturally, Number 24 took offense to this. After all, he is a four-time NASCAR champion.

A year later, Gordon finally got his revenge. With the help of one of Okulski’s friends, Gordon posed as an ex-con taxi driver and gave the automotive journalist one of the wildest rides of his life. The two are purportedly being pulled over by a cop when Gordon (who plays his character excellently) starts exclaiming he “Can’t go back, man! I can’t go fucking back!”

Okulski’s cries of “help,” “sir,” and “please stop!” are priceless.
