Braves 1B Freddie Freeman Is The Cockiest Guy In Baseball According To Chipper Jones
Freddie Freeman is undeniably a good major league hitter at this point in his career. In 2013 the Braves first baseman finished 5th in NL MVP voting and had a slash line of .319/.396/.501. Anyone who has watched the guy knows that he hits to all fields, with gap to gap power. So far this year, though it’s way way way way way way way too early to make any real judgments, Freeman is batting a cool .419/.514/.677. Like I said, the guy can hit. Apparently Freeman knows it too, because after going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs against the Mets Wednesday night, Freeman headed over to his pal Chipper Jones’s house, and according to the Braves legendary third baseman Freeman said of major league pitchers, “they got nothin to get me out with”.

That cocky, goofy bastard. Guy deserves one of his own celebratory tender hugs for swagger like that. Considering Freeman’s hot streak to begin the season, he’s already produced 0.6 WAR in 8 games (that projects to a Mike Trout-esque 12+ WAR over 162 games. Not going to happen, just an example of how good he’s been so far), Freeman isn’t wrong. Even in last night’s loss the Braves first baseman justified his 8 year, $135 million extension by going 2 for 4 with an RBI.
The only thing I’m left wondering is how exactly Freddie told Chipper that major league pitchers have nothing to get him out with. My guess? He pulled Chipper in real close for a hug, leaned his head forward toward Chipper’s ear, and whispered, “They got nothin’ to get me out with. And I love you.” Freddie’s a weird guy, and a helluva ballplayer.

I have witnessed him being a complete jerk to fans on several occasions who were literally just saying they loved him as a player.

It must be tough that everyone wants to talk him when he goes out, but when I have seen Huddy and Uggla they were always class acts. Huddy had the bitches on DECK. Haha
