Costa Sunglasses Creates Incredible Tuna Sculpture Out Of Their Lenses

Move over Guy Harvey, there’s a new breed of fish art in town.

Costa Sunglasses, one of the most nationally recognized frat companies has just created another masterpiece in their Costa Fish Art series. Just look how sexy that thing looks.

The eight foot Bluefin Tuna was constructed from 1500 Costa lenses and sunglass parts. I’m no calculus major, but at retail that adds up to a hell of a prized catch. The Bluefin is the eighth installment in the Costa Fish Art collection, and the other creations are just as impressive. Check a few of them out, and try not to think of how many 580 lenses you’ve cracked throughout the years:

How long do you think one of these bad boys would last posted up on a fraternity house wall? I’d give it a week before a 260 lb kid nicknamed “Silo” tried to destroy it via headbutt in an unquestionable test of Costa lens durability.

The Costa guys aren’t just making these suckers for fun, as the marlin design pictured above was auctioned off to raise $10,000 for The Billfish Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving all billfish species around the world. Thanks to this foundation, our grandkids will someday be able to get wasted on the water reeling in these behemoths of the deep. The tuna sculpture above fits right along with Costa Sunglasses’ recent Bluefin initiatives, including the short film “Bluefin on the Line,” and efforts to restore the world-renowned Cat Key Tuna Tournament in the Bahamas.
