City Of Boston Owns Up To Lost Hockey Bet, Mocks Canada With Tiny Habs Flag
America’s Cover Band, Canada, gets one over on the US of A and then immediately gets dropped back down a peg, just for being Canada.
The mayors of Boston and Montreal made a friendly wager before the Bruins-Canadiens series: losing team had to fly the winning team’s flag over their city hall. The Habs (I won’t pretend to be hockey knowledgeable – I learned of the “Habs” nickname today) won the series, and Boston paid their debt like assholes. The baby flag will remain there for one week, although few will notice it.
