Patrick Kane Shows Up To Beer League Hockey Game And Dominates

Plenty of guys who play intramurals think they could have played D-I or even gone pro if it wasn’t for some injury or shit coach they had in high school. This delusion is common among Greeks, because we believe we’re superior beings. We tell our high school tales of sacking Blake Bortles three times in a game, or about when we put up 30 in an AAU game against Tyreke Evans. The more time passes, the more outlandish the story gets.

But what would happen if we actually got a shot at a certified stud of a professional athlete? Well, some beer league hockey players got that exact opportunity.

Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawk and U.S. Olympic hero, showed up to a local rink in his hometown of Buffalo, strapped on some skates, and made a mockery out of some amateurs.

From BarDown:

On Monday night, Patrick Kane joined the Piranhas at a local rink in Buffalo where they proceeded to beat down the Essex St. Pub team 13-5.

Kane finished the game with five goals and five assists, earning 10 points.

Here’s the box score.

Lesson learned: if you ever want to be humbled, just challenge a professional athlete at their own game.

Patrick Kane would definitely be the better of the two. Man has been a big name in the pros for years. I love everything Johnny does on and off the field but he can only hope to become the Patrick Kane of football.

Forget kaner. Scarcella putting away 7 and the game winner on the back of Kane is the real power move.

apparently scarsella and kane make a deadly combo of point scoring, maybe the blackhawks should give vinny a one day contract and invite him to tryouts

Please remember they were playing against old beer league players. To try out for the hawks is a totally different thing

You could put Helen Keller on a line with a monster like Kaner and she’d probably make the gamesheet

Every summer a handful of current professional players/college players in their offseasons join teams in my local beer league. I cry and drink heavily all summer as these jerkoffs toe drag around my childhood hockey dreams of (in my delusional mind) what I could have been.

Did you forget about kaners OT goal against St. louis, and the other one agianst the Wild? If you ask this question you clearly didn’t watch the series against LA considering Kane carried the team for for the series, he made multiple assists in almost every game.

So a proffessional going in and playing like a proffessional against a bunch of amateurs is news?
