It’s been a pretty damn good month as far as promotional fuck ups go. A few weeks ago, we had the inadvertent Klan rally at U.S. Cellular Field. This weekend, we had the pleasure of watching the downfall of yet another MLB promotional team member.

The Colorado Rockies gave away 15,000 Troy Tulowitzki jerseys on Saturday as part of its usual promotional schedule. In theory, this was a great idea. Tulo is a standout shortstop and a perennial all-star. Sadly, someone laid waste to what was sure to be a hit.

Yep. The Rockies spelled his name wrong. Instead, the promotion turned his name into either something that sounds like a sexual fetish you only read about on Urban Dictionary, or a white, high school rap group. Your choice.

It instantly became a collector’s item and several business savvy fans have already made a nice profit off of the Rockies’ embarrassing blunder.

If any of you recent graduates are still searching for a job, a new position just opened up in the Rockies’ promotional department.
