Brian Scalabrine To Boston Fans: I’m Coming Home (But Not To Play Basketball)
Before anyone cared that LeBron could play basketball, he was a kid from Northeast Ohio. And before anyone cared that Brian Sclabrine could play basketball, he was a kid raised in Enumclaw, Washington. It’s where he walked. It’s where he ran. It’s where he did a paper route at age six. It held a special place in his heart until 2010.
That’s when he left Boston to pursue a championship ring (but also because Boston didn’t try to re-sign him as a free agent). Now, after almost a decade away, The White Mamba is coming home.

Here are a couple snippets from Brian Scalabrine’s hilarious letter to Boston fans, announcing that he will be returning as a Celtics broadcaster, via CSNNE.com:
I want kids in Boston, like the hundreds of elementary school kids who have red hair and no chance of making the NBA, to realize that there’s no better place to grow up.
[…]
Our community, which has struggled. Well, not really. Winning eight championships since 2000 isn’t much of a struggle, and I guess the Sox won last year.
You have to read the entire letter. It’s long, but it’s so fucking great.
