Gambler Almost Turns $5 Parlay Into $100,000 Only To Get Gutted By Chip Kelly And The Eagles

This past weekend, a man placed a $5 wager on a 15-team parlay in the Delaware Sports Lottery. After Sunday, he was still alive, going an impressive 14-0 against the spread and one win away from turning those five bones into $100,000. Unfortunately for this man, he still needed the Indianapolis Colts to cover.

This dude was probably busy Googling what to do with all his winnings at halftime, as the Colts were easily in control with a 17-6 lead. The thing about sports gambling, though, is that she can be a real coldhearted bitch.

As you know, Chip Kelly and the Eagles came storming back in the second half and won the game on a last-second field goal.

Poor guy. Going 14-1 against the spread is still an impressive feat, though.

From ESPN:

No one has hit one of the 15-team, $5 parlays since 2011. The odds of picking all 15 games correctly are roughly 32,000-to-1, according to the lottery. More than 4,500 $5, 15-team parlays were placed for Week 2 of the NFL.

You’re probably thinking, “What an idiot, why didn’t he hedge his bet?” Simple: Delaware does not allow single-game wagers.

The Delaware Sports Lottery, outside of Nevada, is the largest legal sports betting operation in the U.S. It only accepts wagers on the NFL and requires bettors to pick a minimum of three selections per wager. Single-game wagers are not allowed; nevertheless, the lottery is growing substantially.

Still, there are plenty of outlets to get around this whole “illegal sports gambling” problem. I’ll let you Google that.
