Kid Who Got Body Slammed By Ohio State Strength Coach Also Lost His Full-Ride Scholarship
By now, you have more than likely seen this video of Ohio State’s strength coach, Anthony Schlegel, body slamming a student who ran across the field during the Buckeyes’ 50-28 stomping of Cincinnati.
The former linebacker-turned-coach has since become an internet sensation, with photoshopped pictures and memes running rampant on the world wide web.
So what happened to Anthony J. Wunder, the 21-year-old fourth-year engineering student, who got dropped and dragged off the field?
From The Columbus Dispatch:
A court complaint said that Wunder was intoxicated at the time of the incident. He was booked into the Franklin County jail, then released after he posted a $79 bond on Sunday.
No shit he was intoxicated. Still, it seems like they went easy on the kid. Wait, what’s that? There’s more?
Collins [Wunder’s attorney] said that Wunder was told yesterday by the Evans Scholars program that Wunder has lost his scholarship with the program. Collins also said that Wunder is no longer living in the Evans Scholars house.
Collins, however, said that Wunder remains enrolled at Ohio State. He is a fourth-year student in a five-year engineering program, Collins said.
Yes, for being a complete moron and running onto the field, not only will Wunder have back pain for the rest of his life after Schlegel “Rock-bottomed” his jabroni ass, but he was also stripped of his full-ride engineering scholarship.
The Evans Scholars essentially just dropped the “people’s elbow” and left Wunder down for the count..

If you’re gonna be dumb, you’d better be tough. At least he seems to be smart enough (when he’s sober) to get a full ride engineering scholarship. Something tells me that he’ll be just fine.
11 years ago at 12:38 pmIt’s a shame that there’s such a double standard with the way universities deal with these things. If this was a student athlete on scholarship, you could bet he wouldn’t lose it.
11 years ago at 12:49 pmIt’s a private scholarship from golf caddying. Not affiliated with the University.
11 years ago at 1:29 pmIf he was an undocumented immigrant on a DREAMER scholarship, the DOJ would be filing civil rights charges against the coach.
