This Yacht Is The First Ever To Have A Boat Garage Built In, Fucking FINALLY
Ugh, finally. It’s about time, isn’t it? How many times have you been anchored in the Mediterranean and get an itch of spontaneity to take the 26-footer out for a spin, but you end up not doing it because you don’t want to deal with the hassle of lowering it into the water, then, upon return, having it lifted back up onto the deck? It’s just not a quick process, is it? Plus, it’s out in the open air, vulnerable to harsh weather conditions and the service staff leaning on it and shit. It’s just no good.
Uh, hello? How about a garage built into the yacht?

A garage in the side of your mega yacht to house your smaller boat–it’s such a simple concept, yet here we are. It’s fucking 2014 and we’re looking at the first one. Embarrassing. This is the sliced bread of the yachting industry. Total game changer.
The yacht is called “J’ade.” It’s 60 meters in length, which roughly translates to like a thousand feet in American. I’m getting one.
From Design Boom:
On a recent designboom visit to the 2014 monaco yacht show, the CRN mega yachts ‘j’ade’ 60m vessel – the first to feature a floating garage – was a finalist in the interior design award category. The ship was designed to feel at one with the sea as it boasts special full height windows that provide exceptionally wide panoramic views. This feeling is even more evident because of the innovative flooded garage that enables the owner to store and easily access the 8 meter riva iseo speedboat without the use for a tender lift. The hydraulic operated bay can dry out in three minutes and can also be transformed into a beach club terrace accessible ocean pool.
Oh, so the garage can also double as a beach club terrace/ocean pool? That’s cool, I guess. Just a little fun for the kids while the adults are away touring the Italian coast and sucking down million-dollar champagne. I can get behind that.
Here are a few more photos of J’ade:
As if there was any doubt, the inside is pretty nice, too:

11 years ago at 6:06 pm“I can get behind that.” What are you referring to getting behind Dorn?
11 years ago at 6:12 pmI read it too. The structure of the sentences reads, “Just a little fun for the kids while the adults are away touring the Italian coast and sucking down million-dollar champagne. I can get behind that.”
First things first: Dorn can get behind a little fun for the kids while the parents are away.
We are grasping at straws here, but Dorn just keeps giving us more evidence that he is really into kids.
