Ole Miss Fans Uprooted The Goalposts After Beating Bama And Took Them Home Like Party Favors
Ole Miss defeated Alabama 23-17 on Saturday in thrilling fashion, and College Gameday and Katy Perry were on campus to take it all in. What a night in Oxford. The game was great, but now all everyone seems to be talking about is what happened on the field and around campus after the game, not during it.

Ole Miss fans uprooted the goalposts just after the clock showed zeros. They carried the 18’6″ wide, 30′ tall goalposts to The Grove and set up a miniature version of Vaught-Hemingway, except for unathletic drunks.

Assumedly when the bourbon began to run low, they carried it across campus and by at least one police officer, who, because it’s Oxford on game day, seemed to not care.

The final resting place for one of the posts was a residence where fifth-year senior @BucknerCorso resides. B. Corso and his buddies brought the regulation football goalpost inside their house, because what else would you do with it?

This is where they cut the post up into souvenirs, including one for each AD Ross Bjork and Head Coach Hugh Freeze.
From ESPN:
Come Sunday morning, Corso said he and his friends decided they would cut it up into roughly 30 pieces using a saw.
“I know I want to put an inscription on mine, and I’m going to keep it,” said Corso, who didn’t know whether the others would take a more opportunistic route and try to sell their pieces.
That wouldn’t be anything new — even at Ole Miss.
Well done..

11 years ago at 5:06 pmI can get behind Ole Miss taking it to the Tide, but so many high school frat stars are probably pulling a last minute audible to go there and that my friends is a recipe for a miserable rush season.
