This is not a funny story, nor am I attempting to turn it into humor. It is, however, an incredibly interesting string of events. In this case, alcohol undoubtedly saved the lives of countless people.

A 16-year-old high school student from Monkton, Md., had made big plans that included killing his parents, fellow students, teachers, and even a police officer at George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology. Everything was set to go down on Halloween. Instead, the boy became too intoxicated to function and aborted his plans.

According to police, if he had not drunk a shitload of whiskey before class on Oct. 31, an incredible tragedy would have occurred at his school.

From Baltimore Sun:

Sash Alexander Nemphos wrote in his journal that he planned to kill his parents, as well as students, teachers and a police officer at the Towson school, the documents state.

Nemphos told police that he wanted to bomb the school, according to the documents, and two homemade explosives were discovered behind the teen’s bedroom dresser.

He said he meant to go through with his plan on Halloween and took the .38-caliber revolver in his backpack but forgot the explosives. He said he drank whiskey before classes that day and was too intoxicated to go through with the attack, according to the court documents.

He said he had intended to try again Monday.

Police only became aware of the plot after the teen was busted drunkenly attempting to burglarize cars at a local restaurant. The teen’s description was corroborated by a nearby convenience store worker who told investigating officers Nemphos often attempted to illegally purchase cigarettes at the store. The employee gave police the teen’s license plate information and he was tracked to his father’s house, where his dad told police a handgun had been stolen from his business several months prior.

The teen, who was intoxicated at the time of his questioning, admitted to police that he had burglarized the cars, stolen the gun, and had planned on a massive killing spree.

Nemphos is being charged as an adult.

Damn. I hope somehow, somebody can turn his life around. We don’t need any more of this nowadays. Also goes to show that if somebody really wants a gun, they can get one; thus rendering gun control useless.

That’s very unfortunate, thank God nothing actually happened. Crazy that 16 year olds can be filled with that much hate…

To be that filled with hate and plan something that fucked up, I would guess the kid is mentally ill. Thank God he’s also a moron.

It’s crazy that ANYONE can be filled with that much hate. I don’t care how mean they are to you, or how much your life sucks, murdering random innocent people just doesn’t make sense to me.

After thinking about some of the girls I’ve slept with, I wish Jameson had that effect on me. I took way too many for the team -___-

Fuck that kid. I should feel bad that there’s something wrong to make him want to do these things. But you can’t just go killing people cause you want too.

Totally agree. Heaven forbid any type of school shooting happens again but it always comes up that the kid was “bullied” or “felt isolated” but neither of these things would ever justify that type of senseless murder of innocent people
