Report: Where And When Americans Are Getting Drunk

For the second time this year, and after anonymously collecting data from 300,000 of its smartphone breathalyzer users–one of which could have very likely been me, as they sent me a breathalyzer of my own that I’ve had way too much fun with–BACtrack has released a report of its findings–showing where and when Americans are getting drunk.

The short version: We’re drinking the most during the winter months, and the drunkest states are spread out a bit, with higher concentrations in the southeast, the northeast, and some of those cold states where the only thing to do is drink.

The longer, more in-depth findings of BACtrack’s report can be found on BACtrack.com, where they include an interactive chart that shows the average BAC collected on each day of the year. The drunkest days of the last 365 days were New Year’s Eve and the Saturday of St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Each clocked an average user BAC of 0.094%.

The BACtrack breathalyzer connects to your smartphone via bluetooth. It shows your current BAC levels and charts your progression in the official BACtrack app.

I would like to see the sample sizes. I don’t believe Utah could be way above average and Texas way below.

I think it’s interesting that, aside from Ohio, some of the lowest areas are in locations that have some form of marijuana legalization.

It’s by people who actually use the breathalyzer app, so Utah is the tiny percentage of people there who aren’t Mormon and do drink. Not at all a representative or random sample.

And I meant 0.094%. Isn’t a BAC of over 0.40% supposed to be very lethal?

That’s not what you meant though…
Nice rally after a quick google search. I applaud you.

You’re all real slow huh, legal limit is .08%, so you’re saying more than 10x the legal limit is logical? No. It should be .094%, or slightly above the legal limit.

I was directing that towards oldmanfrat, friend. He didn’t correct you, implying that he agreed with the article. You’re in the clear.

Why don’t you all go purchase breathalyzers and see for yourselves?

If shit companies are paying you to advertise their products in the News section, I motion that we use a portion those funds to negate the fucking advertising stings at the bottom of TFM app.

Or use those funds to hire a full time “Four-um” moderator. I nominate myself, starting salary 70k/year with full bennies, and an aggressive growth plan. Your move Grandex.

By region average BAC: east south central #1 on the list, looks close to .10.

Highest BAC color shouldn’t be brown, it should be stars and stripes dammit!
