Wade Boggs Told Charlie Day He Drank 107 Beers In One Day, Is A Damn Legend

Wade Boggs was an incredible third baseman. He was one of the best hitting hot corners to ever play the game, as boasted by his induction into Cooperstown in 2005. I mean, the guy was voted to the All-Star game for 12 consecutive seasons. That just doesn’t happen anymore.

As prolific as Boggs was on the field, it was well-known throughout baseball that he also notoriously honed (and apparently still does) an incredible penchant for devouring beer after beer after beer after, well, you get the idea. It’s said he’s absolutely unmatched when it comes to trying to keep up. The locker room lore about him getting absolutely smashed on team travel days during his tenures with the Red Sox, the Yankees, and in his last two years, with the then Tampa Bay Devil Rays, are nothing short of legendary.

Until now, there was only speculation attached to just how many brews Wade Boggs could actually put down. Then Charlie Day went on Jimmy Fallon and put the rumor mill to rest, as Boggs recently revealed the real number while alongside him on-set filming the tenth season premiere for It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Let’s just say Boggs definitely lives up to the hype, and Charlie Day, as always, is entertaining.

Fucking incredible, right? It’s literally astonishing that Boggs could even function, let alone posses a World Series ring, eight Silver Slugger awards, and two Gold Gloves, in addition to the aforementioned accolades.

Boggs proves amazingly well that if you’re going to go Hall of Fame in one thing, you might as well go Hall of Fame in everything. I’m still not sure there’s anyone in my phone book who would remotely have a shot at giving the guy a run for his money — on or off the field..
