Iowa State Students Have A Snapchat Full Of Booze, Drugs, And Nudity, University Surprisingly Wants To Shut It Down

#DoItForState was one of the best kept non-secrets over the last few months. For those unfamiliar with the hashtag, a Snapchat account, which has been deleted and recreated under several different aliases, but commonly referred to as StateSnaps, has captivated the city of Ames, Iowa.

A growing Snapchat site filled with nudity, sex and booze is entertaining thousands and frustrating Iowa State University.

And those are some of the more tame submissions. I had to keep it PG, as we here at TFM are a family website.

Shockingly, the administration at ISU isn’t exactly thrilled with the account. Saving face and protecting their public image is apparently more important to the university than the countless hours of entertainment the Snapchat has provided.

I’m not saying Iowa State University is against the college experience being an enjoyable venture, but I am saying this is the same school that put the kaput on a century old party tradition in VEISHEA. Read into that all you want.

The correct play would be for the University to completely embrace this Snapchat account. Slap #DoItForState on some T-Shirts and I guarantee school apparel profits skyrocket. Let’s also address the biggest elephant in the room: StateSnaps simply makes going to school in the middle of fucking nowhere Iowa look somewhat pleasant. Maybe it’s my closed mindedness to the Midwest, but I fully expected every girl at ISU to be pasty and pushing two bills. After following the account, I was delightfully surprised with the talent in Ames. Good showing, ladies.
