Prosecutor Drops All Charges Against Himself, Declares Himself A Free Man

Zambia’s chief prosecutor, Mutembo Nchito, was arrested two weeks ago on nine charges that included abuse of power, contempt of court, and fraudulent contracting of debt. This past Friday, Nchito pulled the ultimate power move and dropped all said charges against himself.

Zambia’s top prosecutor on Friday stunned a magistrate when he refused to prosecute himself on charges of abuse of office and declared himself a free man.

“I am the director of public prosecution of the republic of Zambia and I have decided to enter a nolle prosequi against all the charges,” Mutembo Nchito told the magistrate from the dock, using the Latin term for refusing to pursue a case.

Magistrate Lameck Mwale will rule on March 2 on whether Nchito can prosecute himself or not.

It’s unconfirmed, but there are reports that time froze, Dr. Dre’s “Keep Their Heads Ringin'” played over the court’s P.A. system, and the words “thug life” emerged at the bottom right of Nchito’s face.

I love that the magistrate was “stunned” by his decision. Of course he’s going to galavant into the courtroom with a giant shit-eating grin on his face and exonerate himself from all charges. He did exactly what shady, corrupt public officials do: make shady, corrupt choices. A zebra can’t change its stripes.

Mutembo Nchito just has Zambia by the stones right now. Can’t knock the man’s hustle..
