Gas Station Attendant Ticketed For Selling To Minors, Students Help Raise Money To Pay His Fine

Gas Station Attendant Gets Ticket For Selling To Underage A&M Kids, They Raise Money To Pay It

This is one of those feel-good stories about students taking care of one of their own. I’ll never forget the day when Dallas police shut down — and eventually deported — the owner of a liquor store that supplied many students with copious amounts of alcohol. It was a sad day, and many mourned. He accepted our fakes as real IDs even though he knew better. He was a saint. I’m sure that many of you have your own person who does this in your college town.

For years, one gas station attendant at a Shell station in College Station has been making friends with the Aggie students. That’s why it was such a shock to them to find out that police had given the man a ticket for providing alcohol to minors, all thanks to one idiot who walked in, bought his stuff with his fake, and then proceeded to give the cop outside his real ID after the cop requested it.

A&M students would not stand idly by as he suffered from this kid’s stupidity. He was the victim of an underage kid using his own fake to purchase alcohol — it’s a mistake that happens to many others around the nation. They banded together to start a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to pay for the $2,000 fine that the man faced. While the students do not condone the mistake of selling alcohol to minors, they do sympathize with a good man who they had become friends with over time — which was the reasoning for the campaign. They even had some interesting perks for certain donating levels.

As of this morning, they raised a total of $2,210 from 91 people. The highest donator? A&M FIJI, coming in hot with a $105 donation. Good to see them looking out for a man many have high praise for. Here’s to many more years of good times in College Station.

Shibby had been teetering on the edge for a while. Most of the others were reincarnations of earlier posters, but their antics got to be a bit much and their IP’s were probably blocked.

And they left during the forum riots. A sad day for all the old commentariat. #Ballocaust

I’ve seen a few of those guys here and there, but when the forums were shut down it was only inevitable that those who used it faded away. That was the staffs plans all along, tread the shit storm water that came right away and that smooth sailing after several months. #RememberTheForums

I’ve seen Shibby getting hazed over at PGP. I don’t comment there. I visit once in a blue moon. PGP is where Frat Dreams go to die.

I’d do the same for “Sam” of Sam’s Liquor and Wine any day of the week. Well done boys.

No one liked Uncle Rog enough to start a GoFundMe though. It came down to Mrs. Dorn having to polish the police commissioner’s doorknob.

Roger was the man. He got me through my underclassman years. The day he got arrested was a dark day for college station.

Pretty sure that Dorn’s Liquor here in Gainesville (yes, it’s real), only sells to kids under the age of 18.
