Help Support The Now Unemployed House Cook Of OU’s SAE Chapter

“For the guy who has probably spent more hours at 730 College than any other man,” the racism shown from members of Oklahoma’s SAE chapter cuts even deeper.

Howard is the tenured chef of the SAE house at the University of Oklahoma. Because of the actions of several members of the chapter — people who Howard spends a great deal of his time with — he is now unemployed after word came in that the fraternity was removed from campus. As an African American, it’s not hard to imagine that the news of his services no longer being needed probably doesn’t compare to the realization that some of his friends are racist.

The good news is you can help Howard, financially, thanks to the thoughtfulness of who I’m guessing is a former member of this chapter. An Indiegogo campaign was launched yesterday in Howard’s name. The intent is to ensure that Howard lands on his feet in the wake of this unfortunate incident. The posted goal is $50,000, and the current amount raised just eclipsed $11,000. The campaign runs through April 7.

From Indiegogo:

Today we received the news that some ignorant kids have quickly destroyed something that thousands of men built. Because of these kids’ actions, many will be affected. None more so than Howard.

Those of you who lived in the house, undoubtedly came to love Howard and his infectious smile (if not his chili dogs). He was always there to chat with you and more importantly, to take care of Mom B.

Well, that man is going to walk up to the SAE house tomorrow morning and hear that he no longer has a job. He is going to learn who has been working for. And through some cruel twist of fate, he has to lose the job that he has held for over a decade. He is going to lose his job because of a bus full of racist kids.

You know and I know that this isn’t the house we lived in. I’m positive Howard knows this too. I ask you to give some money to make sure he lands on his feet.

Thank you.

Good stuff here. Well done. Click the below graphic to be directed to the campaign page if you’d like to donate.

This is great. Sad news to hear about this man’s fate, but it’s good to see the support he’s receiving for all the trouble he has to go through.

For the record I’m not talking about Howard being ignorant and I just donated. But I’m referring to how they chanted that when he is an essential part of their fraternity life. Just so I make things clear

Holy shit, welcome back. I bet NED would have some choice words on the forums about this.

Ned would probably remind this FBR moron that one chapter doesn’t represent Sigma Alpha Epsilon as a whole. First comment I’ve posted in over a year because this kid is trying to be some kind of hero.

Being pissed off at a racist chapter doesn’t equate to someone trying to be a hero.. Fuck off.

You’re a fucking idiot. Obviously I meant the Oklahoma chapter. You would have to be missing a chromosome if you thought otherwise. Clearly this doesn’t represent every chapter. However I will admit to fucking up typing. I’m pretty sure people could figure it out. In short, go shove cock in your mouth. Also don’t call me a kid, chief.

Everything that we as Greek men can do to outshine the few racist assholes among us, we must do. Here’s to Howard.

This whole situation is just fucking crazy. Excited to see how it all unfolds

There is nothing exciting about this situation. It’s degenerates like these members of SAE who are constantly diminishing Greek lifes reputation throughout the country. Regardless if you attend OU/are a member of an SAE chapter, this negatively affects us all.

Class in the face of such classless actions.

Can’t stress enough that this act of kindness is what the University of Oklahoma Greek system is really about. Over a half a million dollars was raised by OU students this weekend for the Children’s Miracle Network but was overshadowed by a bus full of bigots. It makes me proud to see the OU Greek and now national Greek community come together again to help this man land on his feet.

My chapter will be donating to this worthy cause, i encourage others to do the same. Ou’s actions do not represent our national fraternity or greek life as a whole. Lets be a part of the solution.
