Adrian Peterson Rode A Camel Into His 30th Birthday Party
Adrian Peterson celebrated his 30th birthday over the weekend with a very low-key, gracious gathering that included a few friends, your standard place Arabian palace cake accompanied with a 12-foot ice bar, and the modest “riding a camel into the venue” entrance.

Yawn. This is what is blowing up the internet right now? Not seeing what the big deal is. Who hasn’t ridden a camel into a party while rocking their finest silk garments? Sounds like your typical Tuesday night mixer with the busted sorority. And Jamie Foxx as the entertainment? That would have been cool — 5 years ago.
Seriously AP, are you an elite NFL running back or a Boca Raton teenage girl trying to hold back her tears from such an underwhelming sweet sixteen?

Although I might get “lapped” for this comment, I am just curious as to how he can throw an Arabic themed party (while he is clearly not Arabic) and not be deemed a racist, while the minute a fraternity throws any type of themed party they are automatically crucified.
11 years ago at 12:06 pmbecause he is part of the minority. and the minority gets a say in what’s racist and not racist.
11 years ago at 12:08 pmWell as a minority, APs party was a little racist and hypocritical. If he can have themed party without recieving any flak, y’all should too. just my opinion
11 years ago at 12:30 pmThe rest of America thinks otherwise
11 years ago at 12:43 pmFor the record, I’m not trying to complain about this. I think the party looked badass, and I’m sure it was a great time. Just trying to point out a possible double standard (That Greeks have been and are used to facing for quite some time now).
11 years ago at 12:11 pmI would recommend this article—http://allenbwest.com/2014/11/blatant-racial-hypocrisy-death-penalty-table-black-attackers-charged-murder-white-officer/— It’s written by retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel Allen West, he’s a black man, and with great eloquence he completely exposes the double standard we are discussing in this comments section.
11 years ago at 2:27 pmAllen West always puts together well articulated arguments against the double standards that the left always tries to implement in today’s society
11 years ago at 9:36 pmHe is black, he can’t be racist, it is not possible.
11 years ago at 12:25 pmDid anyone see the ban of hoop skirts put in place at UGA for events like Old South and Magnolia Ball because of racial insensitivity? Some serious bullshit.
11 years ago at 12:44 pmI submitted a news tip yesterday, I figured someone else would have done it by now since it happened last week.
11 years ago at 11:12 amNot sure why you would get lapped, though with all the liberals on this site as of late I see why you be concerned.
11 years ago at 12:54 pmBecause the white male has not “suffered” enough to balance out the perceived inequalities of minorities. Fraternaties are viewed as shite, upper middle/upper class, exclusive and self-centered. Reading your comment made me think back to the border Fiji party at UT Austin. It wasn’t until the race baiting media got ahold of it, did anyone get upset about it. Correct me if I’m wrong, but there were hispanics at the party who participated and had a great time, just like the white guys. People who weren’t even there got offended and THEN it became an issue.
11 years ago at 1:12 pmThat’s usually how it all pans out these days. Such a sad society that we live in, sometimes.
11 years ago at 1:18 pmI’m about tired of this racist shit. I don’t care what color your skin is if you are a civil person and have respectable qualities about you then you are a honorable citizen of this fine country. It’s the individuals of every race and color that decide to ruin it for everyone and those are the people I have a problem with. We, as humans, are built to make mistakes. but this race issue has gone too far. Don’t cause problem and issue where there is not one due. Be respectable and strive to be a better person every day. That is what we, as fraternity men, work towards.
11 years ago at 1:20 pmThe problem is, that if you look past ethnicity and judge someone based merely on the traits, merits, and characteristics as a person you are labelled a racist for ignoring race.
11 years ago at 1:30 pmCaptbluewater, you are absolutely correct. Every day we should be striving to be better. The problem lies with the people with the loudest voices. They have the ability to coerce followers into believing they are still being treated poorly. Furthermore, they believe that the current system owes them a debt that should be paid to them, regardless of any effort they put forth. This is only made worse by the Al Sharpton’s of the world. Often, those followers lack the motivation to make themselves better and they find it easier to place their faith in someone whom they believe can make a better life for them without any of their own effort.
11 years ago at 1:58 pmNo, because when white college kids do it they lack chill. Further, there is a blatant disregard for historical context. For instance: nobody cares about celebrating Cinco De Mayo. However, somebody will take it over the top and make it an opportunity to be disrespectful by making immigration jokes. Or have a fried chicken party on MLK day.
And stop whining about the white man’s burden. The majority of whites just stopped acting insane until recently. There are many of your classmates that have parents that lived through segregation. Further, given that many of you belong to historically racist organizations makes your complaints even more insulting.
I never seen a bunch of more egotistical assholes. I have no idea why any school would want to deal with your privileged bullshit. But that’s alright, they are gong nowhere and you will still make more money for no reason.
I’m out.
11 years ago at 2:09 pmIf you don’t like greeks, don’t associate with them. We sure hell won’t associate with you. Problem solved.
11 years ago at 2:25 pmas* laps taken
11 years ago at 2:26 pmWow, tell us how you really feel. Not quite sure how you can qualify someone lacking “chill” in this specific example where Adrian Peterson rode in on a donkey wearing all Arabic garb. I’m also pretty sure it has been established that the people in fraternities and sororities who take things too far are the small percentile of us. From what it sounds like you have a lot of bottled up anger for greek life in general (considering you made an account just to try to retort my comment), but you can’t deny the double standard that exists when greek life does something as opposed to the general population. Also I wasn’t whining at all, just pointing out the flaws in our society and how the media can praise one man (minority) for his awesome birthday, where they would criticize greek life if they threw the exact same party.
Also a little word of advice, getting aggressive and throwing terms out there like “the white man” isn’t going to help your cause on this website.
11 years ago at 2:35 pmCamel* instead of donkey, my bad.
11 years ago at 2:40 pmCamels and donkeys all look alike to you, don’t they?!?!
11 years ago at 5:16 pmI hate a stupidity.
This is how it works: there are just a small amount of people that get caught. People have just gotten fed up with the bullshit. As campuses become more diverse, more people will start to push back. Less people don’t see the value of exclusion and self entitlement in higher education.
Also, please notice, you can’t just say you find what AP did as offensive without being a douchebag about it. You’re the one that brought up the rant about racial hypocrisy.
Here’s the difference between a fried chicken party and this. AP is fantasizing about being an Arabic king. It’s an acknowledgment of the magnificence of a culture.
And “white man’s burden” is a reference to a fucking poem.
11 years ago at 4:38 pmFirst off, never once said it was offensive. Totally twisting my words there. I said if a fraternity did the same exact thing as AP, people all over the country would start freaking the fuck out. Also I never downplayed having a “fried chicken party” (which I’ve never even heard of before). That would be blatant racism and in definite need of punishment.
Second, how do you know his intentions of throwing the party?
“AP is fantasizing about being an Arabic king. It’s an acknowledgment of the magnificence of a culture.”
Really man? What in the actual fuck does that mean? I’m sure you know AP’s exact mindset when he decided to throw this party. And what’s to say that’s not what a fraternity’s intentions are if they throw the exact same party.
Now you are just starting to generalize fraternities from your past experiences and are coming off as absurd. Of course there is occasional bullshit behind fraternities, but people never hear about the good things that the greek system does. Hell, I’ve heard of some University Marching Band hazing allegations, should we assume all members of marching bands are bad eggs as well?
Long story short, you were never in a fraternity, so you will never be able to understand them. Fraternities have helped make some of the greatest and most successful Americans throughout history, and I’m truly sorry that you never got/and will never have that type of experience. And lastly, to the people like you who want all fraternities gone from college campuses… Good fucking luck.
I’m out

11 years ago at 5:12 pmSo I cant fantasize about being in the Dogg Pound?
11 years ago at 7:39 pmHey pal, did you just blow in from stupid town?
11 years ago at 9:17 pmBecause he’s rich
11 years ago at 3:35 pmThe only way you can win is to be a victim even if you are the offender.
11 years ago at 4:46 pmTerribly weak argument. This party is inoffensive in the same way that dressing up as a Sultan or Aladdin on Halloween is inoffensive. Dressing as Arabian royalty doesn’t play into negative stereotypes of Arabs. Dressing as criminal rappers, crack dealers, or border jumpers, however, plays into negative racial stereotypes. It’s not difficult t understand. No one would be offended by an MLK party if participants wore suits and carried bibles. The intent is usually to make fun of minorities, and that’s why people get pissy.

11 years ago at 10:46 pmDidn’t you hear? Only white people can be racist. It’s science.
11 years ago at 7:15 amIdk what’s more unappealing about this party Jamie Foxx DJ’ing or Jamie Foxx playing Soulja Boy while DJ’ing…..
11 years ago at 12:12 pmBirthday goals. He’s got his in order.
