Comedy Central And TFM Present The Big Time Campus Takeover, Next Stop: College Station
A private viewing of Comedy Central’s next hilarious series, piling into the bar with all your friends, and possibly the chance to belly up to the bar next to your least favorite TFM personality and express your disdain for him right to his smug face — what’s not to get excited about?
Comedy Central and TFM are throwing three campus parties across the nation next week, and if you reside in one of the college towns on our list, you’re flat-out going to want to attend, as long as you enjoy hilarious television, hitting the town on a Tuesday or Wednesday night, and drinking your face off. Those towns are home to the University of Central Florida, the University of Missouri, and Texas A&M University.
At each stop, attendees will be treated to private screenings of Comedy Central’s brand new series, “Big Time in Hollywood, FL” — a show about two deluded brothers who get kicked out of their parents’ house and try to make it big in Hollywood. It’s not the Hollywood that matters, though. It’s the one without the Hollywood sign, the one in Florida.
UCF’s Alpha Tau Omega is hosting one of the screening parties. The one at Mizzou, however, the host fraternity asked us not to broadcast their affiliation with the event because they already have people blowing them up for tickets. Just follow the buzz around campus, Mizzou students. It will lead you to the right people.
At each screening party in Orlando and Columbia, Comedy Central and TFM will have buses picking up hosts and their guests from their fraternity houses to take them to nearby theaters to watch private screenings of the first three episodes of the new hilarious hit series. These events will be held on Wednesday, April 8. After the private screenings, the buses will unload everyone at a local bar where shots will be lined up and tops are coming off. I can’t actually promise you that tops will come off, and honestly, they likely won’t, but hey, tops could actually come off…?
Now, in College station, things are going down a little differently. On Tuesday, April 7, Texas A&M’s Rudder Theatre will be transformed from a venue to showcase students’ thespian talents to a giant, raucous vat of laughter and palpable sexual energy, maybe. Rudder will be packed to the gills with Aggies to watch the first three episodes of “Big Time in Hollywood, FL.”
This part is important, so pay attention: TFM has set aside a limited number of spots for our fans, and you can RSVP right now to get your name on the Eventbrite guest list. CLICK HERE TO RSVP. Admittance will be on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to arrive early and grab a seat before it fills up. You could also just know the right people for guaranteed entry. That works, too. Oh, and it’s FREE.
The event runs from 8-10 p.m. I’ll be there. So will our New York Times bestselling author, W.R. Bolen, and our drunken Irishman, Rob Fox.
We’ll also be streaming the event live via Twitter’s new app, Periscope. Could get weird?
After the viewing at Rudder, we’ll be thirsty, so we’re piling into Northgate’s Corner Bar for the afterparty, and they’re hooking us up with drink specials: $2 domestic drafts, $3 import drafts and well drinks, and plenty of deals on shots.
For all those unable to attend but would still like to catch the first three episodes of “Big Time in Hollywood, FL,” you’ll be able to watch them right here on TFM. We’ll be hosting these episodes from April 9 to April 15. More info on that later on.
Take it easy on me at the bar, Aggies. I’m definitely not in college drinking shape anymore..

Cool.

11 years ago at 3:36 pmHonestly, congratulations for teaming up with a big name like Comedy Central.
11 years ago at 1:48 pmMuch appreciated. We plan to start doing a lot more stuff like this.
11 years ago at 2:18 pmDoes that mean we are going to see a lot more sponsored ads passed off as “columns” or “reviews?”
11 years ago at 5:30 amIn order to fund the creation of the content that we publish on this website, we periodically promote things we think are relevant to our readers. Sometime we get paid by a third-party like Comedy Central, and sometimes we promote our own stuff (RowdyGentleman.com, ManOutfitters.com, etc). Regardless, we always make an honest effort to promote things of interest to our readers.
My comment about doing more stuff like this, was referring to on-campus live events.
