Jim Harbaugh Is So Popular That He Finished Fourth In Michigan’s Student Presidential Election
When you’re looking for a presidential candidate, you look for a few things: leadership, the ability to have your constituents rally around the message you’re saying, and to have a backbone as strong as steel. Good hair, too. Jim Harbaugh portrays all of these characteristics, which is why he is one of the best football coaches in the game. Jimbo wasn’t planning on running for student president at Michigan for next year — he has more pressing needs like figuring out what the heck he’s going to do at quarterback.
However, the student body knew exactly who they wanted to run their student body and decided to write in the fiery coach on the ballot. Jim received 115 total write-in votes, which accounted for 1.26 percent of the total vote. He ended up finishing fourth in the election.
From Michigan Daily:
Harbaugh received 115 votes for president in total, including 82 votes for “Jim Harbaugh,” another 18 simply for “Harbaugh” and four for the joint ticket of “Jim Harbaugh and Diag Squirrel.”
The election results are still unofficial, pending litigation. So you’re saying there’s a chance? Jim can still win this, assuming the top three vote-getters are found to have been tampering or some other shit like that. To put this in perspective, Nick Saban only received EIGHT write-in votes for student president at Alabama. Harbaugh – 1 Saban – 0.
Jim is just winning over everyone in Ann Arbor these days. At this point, I’m sure he could go winless in his first year and people will still be on the Jim train. Things are coming up blue in Michigan these days.
Jim was none too pleased about finishing fourth. He fired out this tweet after finding out the results.
Disappointed w/ 4th place finish 4 @umich student body Pres. Competitive juices flowing! Hat in the ring for 2016 & will campaign w/ #EUTM!
