One of our brothers had an older brother that plated O-line at FSU in the mid 2000’s and he said this was the norm. Anyone worth knowing on the team would openly walk into Publix and grab sandwiches, pre-made food, etc and would be allowed to walk out without paying. I was told as long as it was under $20 you would be told it was on the house.
Apparently there was a new assistant manager that just got transferred there and when he saw someone walking out of the store without paying he called campus PD.
