Longhorn Fans Troll Texas A&M On Twitter After Aggies Use Manziel In Tweet About NFL Draft

With the power of social media, recruiting in college football has been taken to new levels Bear Bryant could have never imagined. A school can appeal to a recruit halfway across the country with just one single tweet. What better way to attract recruits by letting them know you dominate the Twitter game? It’s madness.

With the NFL draft today, Texas A&M’s Aggie Football Life Twitter account wanted to let potential recruits know that they send their recruits to the league. What better way to entice some impressionable high school athletes to your university than reminding them that if they sign at A&M, they can be the next Manziel. Here’s the tweet they fired out on Tuesday:

Seems harmless, right? Sign with A&M, win the Heisman, and be a first round pick. I mean, it’s not like Johnny did anything bad during his tenure at A&M or his rookie year in the NFL. It didn’t take long for Texas fans (and possibly one upset A&M fan?) to chime in with their own troll tweets.

Technically, they aren’t wrong. Maybe Aggie Football Life should have just stuck with Mike Evans or Jake Matthews, you know, the two higher picks from last year’s draft.

Johnny Manziel is going to end up like Dicky Eklund (Christian Bale) in The Fighter. Really looking forward to his 30 for 30 in 15 years.
