Product Reviews by Dorn: Trask Drivers
I have been bestowed the opportunity to write reviews for some of my favorite products available at Man Outfitters, for several reasons: 1) I have style and people know it, 2) people look up to me, 3) we have some really sharp merch that needs pushing, and perhaps most importantly, 4) a lot of you dress like total shit and flat-out need my help. I’m all over social media, guys. I see the pics.
Man Outfitters sends me the shirt, pants, shoes, switchblades, etc. that I choose to review because I like and endorse them, I wear them around or try them out, assess their quality and style, then I tell you all about them. Easy enough.
This week, I am featuring the Derek American Bison Driver by Trask. Leather and canvas on a loafer, a match made in shoe heaven.

Alright, so here’s the deal. I can’t take these motherfucking shoes off. I can’t. These were immediate starting rotation entries. They’re just too sexy. Too comfortable. Too versatile. Bison leather and canvas? Who has ever heard of such a thing? It doesn’t make sense, yet it makes perfect sense. The trim is steer leather, by the way, so they’re also durable.
There’s a feature of Trask loafers that I can’t stress the importance of enough: the insole design. Let’s have a serious discussion about the black eye of the loafer industry. Foot sweat and stench is a very real thing with loafers, and Trask has designed an insole to combat this issue.
There’s a reason why I’ve possessed this pair of shoes for over a month and am just now posting my review. I wanted to adequately test their microfiber/ anti-microbial insole, something their rep was very proud to boast about during her visit to Grandex HQ. The Texas heat would push them to their limits. She assured us the insole was unlike any other in the industry. It’s designed to wick moisture and let your feet breathe.
“Your feet simply will not sweat,” she said. “You’re completely full of shit,” I thought.
Doesn’t smell like a foot. Smells like America and bison and sex. God, I love these shoes.
I know I’m hard-selling you on the bison and canvas combo, but Trask has you traditionalists covered, too. All-leather pennies:
Fun fact: The bison leather is tanned in Chicago by the Horween Leather Company, which is the oldest continually operating tannery in the United States. Great stuff. These shoes are legitimately undervalued at $195..
I <3 you, though.
