America Prefers George W. Bush Over Barack Obama, According To Study

The rest of America has finally realized what the fine visitors of this site have known since 2008: that George W. Bush is better than Barack Obama.

According to a new CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday, Bush received a favorable review from 52 percent of those surveyed. Obama trailed behind, receiving a favorable review from 49 percent of those surveyed.

Bush also received fewer unfavorable reviews than the current president. From those surveyed, Bush received 43 percent unfavorable reviews, while Obama received 49 percent unfavorable reviews.

The study was conducted on May 29-31 by telephone, surveying 1,025 Americans, with an overall margin of error of plus-or-minus 3 percentage points.

It is also worth noting that among all living presidents, George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton both received a 64 percent favorable review. The trend seems to be that the longer a president has been out of office, the less they are hated. That makes sense considering retired presidents focus on charities and other feel-good stuff rather than making critical decisions about the fate of the nation.

Either way, I chalk this up as a W for Dubya.

It’s ok, usually the best presidents are the most hated in office. And I’m getting laps too, but cutting taxes WHILE declaring war on terrorism (which is a pretty broad enemy) AND adding part D to Medicare (the most expensive part) ends up losing us money and was dumb.

Bush didn’t put us in a recession. You can thank overzealous mortgage companies and financially unresponsible Americans who caused the housing market to hit the shitter. If you well versed in economics you’d know that the housing market is the one market that ties in every other financial marker in the country (people default on the mortgage, bank takes the house, banks left with worthless homes, builders are left with houses they can’t sell, banks have a shortage of loanable funds, without loanable funds there’s no stimulation in the economy). My grandpa’s 2nd wife ( who’s younger than my dad, power move by grandpa) worked for the fed until 2010. According to her, in the last days bush was in office he made some exec desicions which prevented a worldwide economic collapse. There was a lot more to blame than a lame duck president who couldn’t control congress, bc of the overload of Democrats after 2006, which controls fiscal policy but we all know the fed has all the real power anyway, not congress. Put simply, it’s ignorant to blame Dubya.

I don’t really blame Presidents for putting us in recessions, Presidents have less control over the economy than you think. That’s more Congress and the FED.

The president is just a person to pin the blame on. Congress makes the laws. President “passes” them but really it’s all an illusion of choice

No offense to anybody with this, I know who the audience here is… but I do this kind of thing for a living. Statistical analysis of political opinions and whatnot using polling data. The data here doesn’t tell you anything because there isn’t enough of it. I read the original article, abd there’s a reason that when my bosses make decisions, my information gets checked and cross checked against other studies.

Yeah this would be like asking 10 Americans their favorite ice cream… And then declaring Americans don’t like vanilla.

Using the data from this study it would seem America doesn’t like chocolate.

Let me start off by saying I too believe Bush to have been a far better president than Obama has been, although Bush was not without his flaws, and Obama is not without his attributes. Obama just has fewer attributes and more flaws. That put out there a poll like this is not really fair perception. The sitting president is almost always going to be more unpopular than the previous one. If you had taken this poll in 2007 I’m sure Clinton would have come out on top of Bush. Take it in a few years and I’d bet whoever is the president then would be less popular than Obama. I think it is sort of a grass is always greener mentality.

As someone who study’s chemistry jet fuel can’t melt steel beams but it can sure weaken the hell out of it. That along with the additional weight is more than enough to cause the building to collapse. Next time try to be scientifically literate before displaying your ignorance.

9/11 was bad. Hitler is teaming up with the legion of doom to assassinate Jesus.

The conspiracy, which I don’t believe, was that there were basically pools of molten lava that were melted steel beams. And that’s why conspiracists got their panties in bunches.

You just proved his point by saying jet fuel can’t melt steel beams… The steel beams were in fact melted which is exactly the point. And have you studied physics? There is no way in nature that a building would fall into its own path of resistance at free fall speed, it is physically impossible because it has hundreds of floors below it. Also, this theory is supported by science all around the world, one of the only countries in the that does not support it is in fact the United States.

Can I explain why bush was preferred more then Obama? Thanks… It is because when a republican gets a phone call and is asked who he likes better bush or Obama, he answers the question because he actually cares about politics… Now I’m sure if the other 10,000 people that probably hung up and didn’t answer the question are liberals… The reason they hung up is because they don’t care or pay attention to any politics, they just now that Obama wants to legalize weed so they vote for him without paying attention to anything else. That is also why the other 49% probably voted for him…

49% of Democrats voted for Obama just because he wants to legalize weed? Even you can’t be that ignorant

Obama won the election because over half the population doesn’t have to pay income tax and many rely on welfare and food stamps that likely would’ve been cut back with a Republican in office. Weed? Are you kidding me haha
