Mizzou’s Delta Upsilon Set To Move Into Ridiculous New $5.5 Million Mansion

The tip we received about DU’s new chapter house at the University of Missouri:

Mizzou Delta Upsilon has been building a 6 million dollar castle that they will be moving into beginning of August. There are some awesome pictures online of it. It is a castle.

Well, it’s not a castle, but it is pretty fucking impressive. After $2.5 million was raised from alumni donations and another three after a successful fundraising campaign concluded, the University of Missouri’s Delta Upsilon chapter broke ground late last year to begin construction of their new $5.5 million pad. According to our tipster, residents are all set to move in early August.

Chapter house arms races are always interesting to follow. Similar to athletic facilities at major universities, if you want to land bluechip prospects, you better promise them the world and show them that the place they’d be hanging their hats over the next few years is nicer than their neighbors’. It’s why Bama has a waterfall in their locker room and why recruits around the country are escorted around campus by attractive coeds who may or may not double as paid-for student-prostitutes.

It’s all part of the recruiting game, and the game can get dirty.

Too bad they lost half their members due to hazing allegations and are currently a joke on campus

An article about mizzou greek life not written by Bacon? What is this world coming to?

Unfortunately with the newly proposed rules for Mizzou greek life, they won’t be able to have any females, hard liquor, or drugs in the house. What a shame

good news on that front actually. it seems as though the only proposed change that will take effect is the beer-only policy

This is cool, but if it were me, I’d want my house to have a couple code violations. Adds character.

Stuff like this makes me disappointed being at Arizona State. Completely demolished every chapter’s house and it feels like I’m missing most of the experience. Girls though.

We still party harder, have hotter girls, and have one of the best bar/club scenes in the nation so quit crying

Too bad they have about 5 members and won’t even be able to afford the house payment

Don’t know why people are lapping everyone who is saying this. Anyone who goes to Mizzou knows about this and has known that they don’t have enough members
