STG From Southeast Missouri State Starts GoFundMe To Send Girl With Autism To Cardinals Game
Courtney Farrue, a girl from Hillsboro, Missouri, and Special Olympics athlete who was diagnosed with autism at a young age, loves Cardinals baseball. Farrue, her brother, and her parents, watch every game religiously from the comfort of their decked out Cardinals memorabilia room, and its her dream to take her family to see the team play live.
The brothers of Sigma Tau Gamma at Southeast Missouri State University are working to make Farrue’s dream a reality. The fraternity hopes to raise $3,000 for an all expenses paid trip to Busch Stadium to watch the Cards play from behind home plate. They also hope to get her on the field during batting practice to meet her favorite players.
Farrue dominated at the Special Olympics last year. Despite competing for her first time, Farrue took second and third place in multiple events. She’s all set to compete in the softball events at the next Special Olympics, which has her baseball-loving father beaming with pride.
