The Great Pablo Escobar Was So Rich That He Lost Around $2.1B A Year And Didn't Give A Shit

One thing is for certain about Pablo Escobar: he was rich. That’s what happens when you become the cocaine king of the world. While that title doesn’t come with the pomp and circumstance of being, say, the President of the United States, it’s a job that someone has to do. Pablo stepped up to the plate and crushed it out of the park.

Just how filthy rich was ol’ Pablo? Besides reportedly pulling in over $420 million a week, he was also losing nearly $2.1 BILLION a year to mold, water damage, and rats. A number like that would end most companies. But not our man Escobar. In fact, he didn’t really seem to care about these losses.

From Business Insider:

“Pablo was earning so much that each year we would write off 10% of the money because the rats would eat it in storage or it would be damaged by water or lost,” Escobar wrote.

That would be about $2.1 billion, given how much money he was reportedly making.

Escobar simply had more money than he knew to do with, and therefore haphazardly losing money to rodents and mold wasn’t an issue.

As awesome as it is that he kinda just shrugs off $2.1B like it’s nothing, that’s still $2.1B you can be spending on life’s necessities like more hookers, more booze, and servants. If I was him, I would’ve made sure every last dollar I had was safe.

Would definitely recommend Narcos on Netflix. Good balance of cocaine, naked Colombian girls and good acting.

You’ve apparently never seen Blow. Or Friday for that matter, if that can be considered a drug movie. Hunter S. Thompson can go huff some more glue.

What an idiot. He could have used cardboard boxes and saved about $700 dollars by storing it in bulk instead of smaller parcels.

He let rats eat $2.1 billion, I don’t think he’s worried about wasting a little on rubber bands

The guy literally had to bury millions in fields and forgot about them because he had too much money. $700 wasn’t even a penny to him.

It’s amazing how much the actor in Narcos playing Escobar looks like Escobar. Great fucking show.
