The San Diego Padres And Callaway Are Creating A 9-Hole Golf Course Inside Petco Park

Golfing on anything but a traditional course is typically a crapshoot. Involve mats in any capacity and it’s an instant turnoff. Just doesn’t feel right. That’s why I avoid the range and go into a round cold. Can’t risk messing up the most electric swing in the game all in the name of loosening up. With that said, I think I found the one exception where I’d suck it up for the experience alone.

The San Diego Padres and Callaway are putting a 9-hole, I assume all par 3, golf course inside Petco Park from November 6th through the 8th.

From the San Diego Padres:

Each hole will feature a unique theme and the opportunity to win prizes like a new Callaway Great Big Bertha Driver. Golfers will finish in The Loft presented by Budweiser.

Pricing starts at $100 for twosomes and $200 for foursomes and includes parking, snacks and beverages, limited edition “The Links at Petco Park” hats and a nine-hole round for each golfer.

Upgraded Platinum twosome and foursome packages are available for $400 and $800 and include the standard package along with a limited edition Padres-branded Callaway club and tickets to a 2016 Padres game for each golfer.

Could be an absolute war zone depending on the type of individual that shows up to play. Forget the nerves of sinking a putt for birdie or par, how about the very real concern of taking a ball off the dome the entire time on the green from some hack elevated 100 feet up. Even Steve Stricker couldn’t hit the giant fucking target that is the Wisconsin W in the middle of Camp Randall Stadium.

Shameful, Steve. Shameful.

Still, I’m risking life and limb if given the opportunity to play Petco even though I’d be leaving the driver at home..
