Oklahoma State SigEp Challenges Stillwater Community To Raise $50K For Homecoming Parade Victims

Sigma Phi Epsilon at Oklahoma State University decided to donate $5,000 to the victims of last Saturday’s homecoming parade. They are not stopping there, either. The fraternity believes that the Greek community — including other IFC fraternities, Panhellenic sororities, and other Greek houses — along with the Stillwater community can achieve a much bigger goal.

In fact, they are challenging all of them to help raise a total of $50,000 for the victims.

The fraternity is calling on OSU’s Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council, other Greek houses and community members to join them in raising at least $50,000 for the victims and their families.

At an executive fraternity board meeting Monday, the men decided there were people in the community who could use the money more than they could.

It’s nice to see SigEp donating to a good cause after such a horrific tragedy. In fact, the money they used to donate included social funds. They are cutting back on their social fund for helping out. That’s awesome.

The fraternity is donating its philanthropy budget for the month, along with social and homecoming funds, Cromer said.

“Instead of doing a date party or something like that, this is a much stronger cause to give (the money) to,” Rosebrook said.
