Rex Ryan Names Player Who Broke Geno Smith’s Jaw A Captain For Thursday Night’s Game Against The Jets

Boy, this might be my favorite NFL news of the week — and I’m a Panthers fan.

Buffalo Bills head coach, and distinguished troll, Rex Ryan, is up to his old ways again in Buffalo. The former Jets coach, who was fired after last season, signed the player who cold-cocked Geno Smith in the face, IK Enemkpali, a day after the incident. Smith broke his jaw and was deemed out for six to ten weeks.

Today, Ryan named Enemkpali a captain for the Bills-Jets matchup Thursday night.

Enemkpali barely even plays on special teams.

From Yahoo Sports:

Yes, Ryan plans to send out Enemkpali — who has played 37 snaps on defense this season and isn’t a core special teamer — as one of the Bills’ captains when the teams meet Thursday night in East Rutherford, N.J.

Oh boy.

Yes, Enemkpali is the infamous puncher of Geno Smith back in training camp back when they were teammates. The Jets released Enemkpali, and in the most predictable move of all time, Ryan’s Bills claimed him. After serving a four-game suspension for the punch, Enemkpali joined the Bills’ active roster, where he has mostly served as a reserve defender.

But that won’t stop Ryan from trotting out Enemkpali for the coin toss any more than it prevented the coach from sending out the entire offensive line in Week 7, when the Bills faced the Jacksonville Jaguars. Why? because the Jags employ former Bills head coach Doug Marrone after last season and opted out of his contract, which some Bills players didn’t appreciate.

And, just like that, the Bills are now my second favorite team in the NFL.

Make sure to tune in Thursday night for the coin toss. Maybe Enemkpali will knock some other Jets player out for 10 weeks.

I can’t help but feel that you’ve been wanting to use this quip on here for far too long

I think the theory that Steve holt is a ghost account is wrong. He’s mentioned North Carolina before, and even talked about certain high schools in Charlotte. As much as it would suck to share the same hometown as such a cheesedick, I think it might be true.

        Good content Steve!

P.S. I once accidentally read “holt” as “cunt”. You are now and forever “Steve Cunt” to me

Other than Jets fans who the fuck could this possibly offend. And considering we’re talking about Geno Smith here they’re probably glad deep down inside that it occured, and thus would not be offended.

Idk, I mean America is offended because Starbucks Holliday cups don’t have Santa and snowmen on them, so the likelihood that someone somewhere is going to be offended by this for no reason at all is pretty high. Check your privilege.

Does Ryan think injuring Geno Smith hurt the Jets. The Jets are doing much better without Smith. So as a Jets fan, thank you Rex
