Will Ferrell Went On SNL As George W. Bush Last Night To Rip Donald Trump And Republican Nominees

Will Ferrell returned to Saturday Night Live last night and reprised the greatest presidential impersonation of all time — seriously, politics aside if you don’t like Ferrell as W. you’re a humorless asshole — to skewer the weak AF list of Republican presidential candidates. It was excellent.

http://youtu.be/NKXGA-AU50w
He didn’t mention Kasich, the main GOP contender I could (and would) vote for, and I can’t tell if that’s good or bad, but then again being forgotten as a candidate probably isn’t great. Shit. Probably should’ve saved Mitt for 2016.

“Weak AF republican candidates” as relative to what? A Menopausal impulsive liar and a walking skeleton?

It’s an objectively bad field. Hillary sucks too, yes. This is the worst presidential election in my lifetime. But if your justification of the shitty GOP noms is really, “Well they’re bad, but they’re not WORSE!” then you’re either in deep denial or a part of the problem that let such a shitty field get so far.

Comparing the GOP candidates to the Dem candidates isnt a proper comparison. Remember, for the other side, Hillary and Bernie are great candidates: a corporate liberal and a real liberal. The GOP has become a reality show, while the Dem battle could redefine the party. It doesn’t matter much on the media, but it will when the real politics start coming into play

It’s always amusing when young people say “This is the worst [whatever] in my lifetime.” You have seen only the tip of History’s iceberg. At any rate, the conservative base is going through a fascinating transformation. They are casting out the establishment, and searching for populist replacements. Unfortunately, there’s a limited talent pool, and the voters are just latching onto any warm body (Trump, Carson, Cruz) to fill the void. But being from Missouri you should know that great populist leaders like Harry Truman sometimes get trashed in their own time, yet are vindicated by History.

Right, that’s why I qualified the statement with “in my lifetime” because it would ridiculous of me to say something hyperbolic like “worst all time.” Though to be fair I have no recollection of the 88 election, so that could’ve been worse, but I doubt it.

In 88 both candidates were losers. Harrison lost the popular vote, but Cleveland lost the Electoral College. What? You meant 1988? I don’t remember that, either. I was drunk that year.

Rob. By no way was I justifying the GOPs candidates by saying the Lefts are worse. I whole heartedly support Ted Cruz based on ideas and decision I have made through my own reasoning and validated by my life experiences. Just roasting the clowns the left are fielding as candidates.

Part of the problem is that smart, moderate candidates just don’t get the kind of attention that the crazy ones get. People like Kasich, Fiorina, and Jeb are out there proposing good policies, but they don’t make for as juicy news as Trump wanting to exclude all Muslims. And so everyone says “the GOP doesn’t have any good candidates”, when, in reality, our good candidates just aren’t getting any attention.

It’s easy to bash someone. I’d like to see any of these idiot liberal celebrities explain why their candidates are better.

Ted Cruz is one of the smartest candidates to run for president in the past 30 years. Look at the guys resume. It’s unbelievable. People who want to talk about Cruz being stupid are completely ignorant because they spend too much time reading articles on Buzzfeed (looking at you TFM staff). Cruz and Paul are basically libertarian. Small government with secure borders. Sounds pretty good to me.

Cruz is absolutely not “basically Libertarian”. He is very strongly against gay marriage, abortion, and legalization of marijuana, all of which are issues Libertarians typically support

I don’t think you have a very strong grasp of political ideology. Thinking that ideologies revolve around social issues is part of what drives ignorance in this country. Obviously Cruz isn’t 100% libertarian, but neither is Rand Paul. Also, don’t think that Abortion would be a libertarian belief. Abortion comes down to the belief of whether or not a fetus is a human life. No party endorses murder, so if you believe that is murder, you don’t support it.

Tl;dr Cruz is much closer to a libertarian (ideologically speaking) than he is establishment.

The Official Libertarian Party lines are pro-choice. You can check it out on their website, it’s the only thing I disagree with in their political ideaology.

I mean unfortunately he’s not lying. Trump’s mere presence in the race almost dooms the rest of the republican party and he has all of the leverage. Unfortunately none of the rest are strong enough to challenge him. Getting Hillary or Bernie is a disaster but Trump is going to make sure that either he wins or no one in the GOP wins.

Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are the only two candidates who actually could lead our country, especially after the damage President Obama has done. It’s a shame that neither are likely to win, which is sad. If only Republicans realized that the only thing they have to do in order to beat someone like Hillary is not put their foots in their mouths, we’d have a drastically different political landscape than the one we have today.

So what’s your solution for curbing domestic terror? Because the only alternative that I see is just fucking shredding the Constitution and going full Stalinist Russia. I would rather see a solution that preserves our civil liberties as a whole than to have this happen.

Most of the criticism I’ve seen of Trump is that citizens cannot legally be banned from entering the country.

        1) A spokeswoman said that. Not Trump.
        2) Congress can set whatever standards it wishes for admission to the United States. Noncitizens have no legal standing to sue. If you want to look that up, the case is Kleindienst v. Mandel, 1972.
        3) Both the director of the FBI and Secretary of Homeland Security have stated that they are unable to vet the 10,000 refugees to be brought in. Yet all major Democratic candidates want to ignore that and bring even more in.
        4) The Constitution protects the right to interstate travel, a civil liberty that may be massively curtailed in the case of a national emergency.
        5) In the case of a resettled refugee who was missing from his residence in Louisiana, the federal government refused to cooperate with the state’s investigation.

TLDR: The GOP establishment is getting its panties in a wad over something that a spokeswoman, not Trump, said. In fact, Trump is legally correct. If you want to blame anyone, blame the Supreme Court. Further, the Democratic nominees want to ignore the warnings of two major heads of executive agencies and go ahead with bringing in more refugees when the vetting process is wholly inadequate. Hell, the Feds don’t even want to cooperate with the states when things go wrong.

So yes, Bacon, I am criticizing the RNC. Have some fucking due diligence and stop treating SNL as a legitimate news source.

Stop treating Bacon like a legitimate political analyst. He’s just some guy who throws shit at the Internet wall in a (so far very successful) attempt to get people to click on it. His political acumen is somewhere south of Charles Barkley’s.

I agree with you dude. People want to treat everyone equal but at the end of the day we cannot be a charity case with our country. We have to protect those who are already here.

If the goal here was to turn a piece of entertainment into an analysis of your presidential candidates, you knocked this one outta the park.

Furthermore, no one cares that you support the candidate that won the “most likely to look like Clay Aiken as a 60 year old” contest.
