Indiana ZBT’s #GiveABurrito Campaign Gives Chipotle To The Less Fortunate, Is The Most College Charity Ever
Assuming this doesn’t backfire (sort of literally, ha, diarrhea) and poison Bloomington’s homeless with rancid Chipotle, the Indiana University ZBT chapter’s #GiveABurrito campaign is both incredibly kind-hearted, and the most college philanthropy I’ve ever heard of. At least until a sorority starts donating Starbucks to overworked single mothers, or a fraternity goes around collecting the excess pills everyone has after finals for an Adderall drive for underprivileged ADHD kids whose parents don’t have health insurance.
The concept of #GiveABurrito is, obviously, pretty simple. The ZBT guys are hitting the town to spread the holiday spirit (insert Hanukkah joke) by handing out burritos to the less fortunate. I’ll let the video from College Weekly do the explaining.
Aside from the generosity, the one thing that really stands out to me in this video is how calm the homeless and less fortunate souls who are receiving the Chipotle act when given the burritos. I don’t expect them to act any differently. They’re being gracious and normal about it, like almost any human would. It’s just a stark juxtaposition from how a group of middle class college kids who gleefully claim to be poor (usually via social media on their $500 phones) would behave if you started wandering around a college campus handing out free Chipotle. In short, like starved, ravenous lunatics. You’d be ripped limb from limb if you walked onto a campus and started handing out free Chipotle burritos. It’d be like strolling naked into a cave full of bears, covered in honey and meats. There are Somalian mothers of ten starving children who would act more dignified in trying to get food than a college kid chasing free Chipotle.
Regardless, good on Indiana ZBT. #GiveABurrito is a really simple, cool philanthropy idea. So go spread the word and give a burrito..

Are they also giving the homeless microwaves to heat up the burritos?

10 years ago at 1:28 pmYou don’t have to go far to find homeless people in Bloomington. I’m pretty biased. Good shit though gentlemen.
10 years ago at 1:31 pmYeah but it also could be worse. Geeds are everywhere.
10 years ago at 7:02 pmBacon you would kill for a free burrito. You pudgy wanna be frat star (wannabe dorn).
10 years ago at 1:36 pmnow let’s wait to see how the media won’t cover this or spin it in a negative light
10 years ago at 1:43 pmEasy. One starved, shrunken stomach of a homeless man could never eat an entire Chipotle burrito. They gave more than the homeless can eat, forcing them to stare at their unfinished meal. Assholes…
10 years ago at 2:06 pmThey’ll blame ZBT when they have those trademark explosive Chipotle shits the next day
