Study Ranks 50 Colleges With Most Campus Drug And Alcohol Citations Per Capita
Drug addiction resource group “Project Know” recently utilized government data to put together an interesting report on drug and alcohol use on American college campuses.
From Project Know:
All colleges that receive federal funding are legally obligated by the Jeanne Clery Act to provide reports about the crimes that occur on and around their campuses. The data, from thousands of institutions across the United States, are collated and released by the Office of Postsecondary Education once a year. The latest figures have just been released, and they show that in 2014, there were 44,873 arrests and over 250,000 disciplinary actions on college campuses for drug- and alcohol-related offenses. We’ve mapped and analyzed them to find out where they happened and how things changed between 2013 and 2014.
To me, the most interesting information included in the study is that which is contained in graphic “Drug and Alcohol Disciplinary Actions on College Campuses per 1,000 Students, 2014.” This graphic ranks the top 50 colleges in the nation in terms of drug and alcohol disciplinary actions handed down to college students.
Colleges of note:
1. Coastal Carolina – #1 in alcohol and #6 in drugs. TFM.
2. There are four Jesuit universities in the top 10 on the alcohol list, with an astounding three of those landing in the top five. Looks like the AJCU doesn’t fuck around when it comes to alcohol. You’ve gotta be a little sneakier about your drinking with Jesus around.
3. University of New Haven had a 433.7% increase in drug disciplinary action from 2013 to 2014. Their current sophomores and juniors must be absolute potheads if they can come in and skew the stats like that.
4. There are seven Wisconsin schools on the list. Brings a tear to my eye.

ASU and Florida State would for sure be at the top of the rankings were for total alcohol and drug citations.
